국문 초록

수도는 한 나라의 정치ㆍ경제ㆍ문화의 중심이며, 대외적으로는 나라의 상징으로서 그 나라를 생각할 때 일반적으로는 수도를 먼저 떠올리기 마련이다. 이것은 수도의 외양을 그려내는 것이라고 할 수도 하지만, 시기와 상황과 시인과의 관계에 의해 이루어진 심상(心象)이라고 할 것이다. 따라서 본고에서 다루는 고려 사신들의 상대국 수도에 대한 표현은 단순한 형상화의 결과물이거나 황도의 위엄에 대한 표현 뿐이라고 결론짓기는 어려울 것이다. 더구나 이 시기는 중국의 급박한 정세 변화와 이에 따른 고려 조정의 대응이 지극히 중요하였으며, 이를 맡은 사신들의 외교 인식 또한 변화할 수밖에 없었기 때문에 더욱 그러하다고 하겠다.

영문 초록

The capital of a country is its political, economic and cultural center and a national symbol to foreigners, so when we think of a country, we generally recall its capital first. This aspect not only describes outside features of the capital but represents imagery created by the relationship of the poet and the state of a period as well. Therefore, it is hard to conclude that expressions of the then Chinese capital made by Goryeo envoys are just simple imagery or depiction of dignity of the imperial capital, In addition, abrupt changes of political situations in this period and responses from the Goryeo government are extremely important, and diplomatic recognitions of the envoys in charge of it also had to change. These conditions caused the hard conclusion.
