문제행동 유아 어머니의 양육행동에 영향을 미치는 관련변인들의 탐색

국문 초록

본 연구는 문제행동군 유아 어머니의 양육행동에 영향을 미치는 변인을 살펴보고, 이러한 변인들이 미치는 영향력을 알아보고자 하였다. 연구 대상은 서울, 경기, 충청지역에 재원중인 만3~5세 유아 1715명을 대상으로 유아행동목록척도 검사를 실시하여 기준점수 16점 이상을 받아 문제행동군으로 분류된 유아 194명과 그들의 어머니들이다. 연구결과 첫째, 어머니의 양육행동과 관련변인들의 상관관계를 살펴본 결과, 어머니의 양육행동과 어머니의 심리적 특성, 유아의 기질, 부부갈등, 아버지의 반사회적 행동은 높은 상관관계를 나타냈다. 둘째, 어머니의 양육행동에 영향을 미치는 관련변인들의 영향력을 알아본 결과, 어머니의 심리적 특성과 유아의 기질, 부부갈등, 아버지의 반사회적 행동이 어머니의 거부적, 과잉보호적, 방임적 양육행동에 각각 28.7%, 8.3%, 17.2%의 설명력을 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과는 유아의 문제행동을 예방, 치료하기 위해서는 자녀의 기질적 특성에 따라 그에 적절한 양육행동이 필요하며, 부부간 갈등해소와 심리적 안정을 위한 부모교육 프로그램뿐만 아니라 양육행동에 필요한 다각적인 지원으로 부모들의 균형적이고 일관된 양육행동을 위해 지원이 이루어져야 함을 시사한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to examine the influential variables for the maternal behavior of mothers of preschoolers with problem behavior and the relative influence of the selected variables. The subjects in this study were 194 selected preschoolers and their mothers. PBCL was utilized to test 1,715 preschoolers who were at the Western age of three to five and attended early childhood institutions in Seoul, Gyeonggi Province and Chungcheong Province, and the selected preschoolers got the cut-off score of 16 or higher scores and were consequently classified into a problem behavior group. The findings of the study were as follows: First, the correlation between the maternal behavior of the mothers and related variables was analyzed, and the maternal behavior of the mothers had a close correlation to their psychological characteristics, the temperament of the preschoolers, marital conflicts and the antiprosocial behavior of the fathers. Second, to what extent the variables that affected the maternal behavior of the mothers exerted an influence on the maternal behavior of the mothers was analyzed, and the psychological characteristics of the mothers and the temperament of the preschoolers respectively made a 28.7% prediction of maternal rejection. Marital conflicts and the antiprosocial behavior of the fathers made a 8.3% and 17.2% prediction of maternal overprotection and maternal indifference respectively. The findings of the study suggest that in order to ensure the successful prevention and treatment of early childhood problem behavior, mothers should take an appropriate maternal behavior in consideration of the temperamental characteristics of their preschool children. Besides, parent education programs should be provided for parents to get rid of mutual conflicts and improve their psychological stability, and they should be helped from diverse angles to raise their children in a balanced and coherent manner.
