가족체계 변화에 따른 효 생성 에너지에 관한 고찰

국문 초록

전통적 가족체계에 나타난 효는 부모에게 복종하고 부모를 공경해야한다는 주종관계의 윤리적 특징이 강하다. 이러한 상명하복적인 질서가 유지되도록 환경의 억제력이 강하게 작용하였지만 현대사회는 자유, 평등, 개인의 삶을 존중하는 사회 변화로 인해 효는 부모와 자식 간 갈등요인이 되고 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 전통적 가족체계를 분석하여 효 윤리를 배양하는 요소를 찾고 현대사회의 가족체계에서 효 윤리를 고양하는 방법을 모색하고자 한다. 우선 전통적 가족체계에 있어서 부자관계 외에 부부관계도 가부장적 권위주의에 기초한 불평등한 관계이며 형제관계 또한 장유유서의 질서가 분명하여 장남을 우선시하는 윤리적 특징을 지니고 있다. 그런데 현대사회로 오면서 부모와 자녀 관계는 부모가 새로운 지식을 습득한 자녀에게 오히려 배워야하므로 부모의 권위는 약화되고 있다. 부부관계도 여성의 사회적 지위 상승으로 여성의 희생만 강요하지 않게 되었다. 형제관계 장남 중심의 위계질서보다 친구, 동반자 관계로 장남의 권위는 찾아볼 수 없다. 전통적 가족관계에서 여성, 장남의 희생적 요소가 효를 생성하는 원동력이 되었다. 현대사회에서 효의 열쇠는 부모에게 있다. 부모 자녀 간 쌍무적 인격존중의 관계를 유지해야하며 형제간 유대감은 부모에게 효를 하는 원동력이 되므로 부모는 화목한 가족 분위기를 만들어 효를 배양하는 토양이 되도록 노력해야 할 것이다.

영문 초록

Filiality in the traditional family system is strongly characterized by its emphasis on children to obey and respect their parents. Environment of order-obedience pattern between parents and children had been strongly maintained, but in modern society by long since differed view in freedom, equality and individualism, filiality is becoming causes of conflicts between the parents and the sons. Therefore, in this study we analyze the traditional family system and find factors to cultivate and enhance Hyo-ethics in family system of our modern society. First of all, not only parents-children but also husband-wife relationship is unequal relationship which bases its root on patriarchal authoritarianism. Elder and younger brothers' relationship is also clear to its up-down order. It is the ethical aspect that the first born son always comes first. But, parents' authority has weakened as modern society requires parents to hold newly enforced status to learn innovative knowledge from their younglings in a tumultuous stream of era. Relationship between husband and wife also moderated to not compel wife-side sacrifice as women's social status improved. Authority of the first son can not be found anymore in brother-sister's relationship, rather it now resembles friendship or partnership. In the traditional family relationship, sacrifice of women and firstborn was the power and energy to maintain Hyo. The key of Hyo now remains in the palms of parents. Mutual respect between parents and children, intimate brothership are the motivation of Hyo. Thus parents should try to make family atmosphere peaceful and sweet, the very good soil to cultivate Hyo.
