루마니아 민담 유형의 일고찰

국문 초록

구비문학의 많은 장르 중 민담과 전설은 오래전 소멸된 제의의식과 신앙에 대한 요소들을 잘 보존하고 있다. 이러한 연유로 루마니아 민담을 포함한 세계의 모든 민담들이 아직도 채록, 판독, 분석되고 있는 것이다. 과거에 이야기는 미학적 기능 외에도, 특히 성별에 의해 엄격히 제한되는 주술적 기능을 내포한 것으로 고려된다. 이야기의 구연을 통해 사악한 초자연적 실체들의 거소 침입을 막는 수호 또는 액막이의 기능이 가능하리라 믿었고, 여기서 다루어진 다양한 주제들은 문학적 모태가 되었다. 주술적 기능은 민담의 ‘집산성’과 ‘전통성’을 대변 요소이며, 화자와 청자의 관계에 있어 민담의 구연은 ‘통합성’을 공고히 해준다. 민담의 서사흐름은 일련의 ‘동태’들을 통한 정형화된 서사전개를 가지고 있다. 본격담의 일반적인 서사전개는 도입, 중간, 결말의 정형화된 레퍼토리에 의해 구성된다. 도입 레퍼토리는 신비담의 구술 개시를 상징화하는 요소로 매우 중요하며, 중간 레퍼토리는 화자로 하여금 이야기를 이어 나갈 수 있는 집중력의 매개체로 그리고 결말 레퍼토리는 주인공의 운명이 행복으로 영원히 남아있을 거라는 확신을 보장하며 동시에 동화의 세계를 벗어난 현실로의 귀환을 도모한다. 루마니아의 민담에서 보편적으로 관찰되는 유형과 형태의 유사성은 독립발생, 즉 다원발생의 가능성과 전승 또는 전파의 결과로 유추될 수 있다. 공통분모를 가진 각 민담의 변별성을 다원발생설에서 찾고자 한다면, 보편성은 전승•전파의 결과로부터 기인된다고 할 수 있을 것이다. 이러한 관점에서 루마니아 민담의 서사구조 전개와 등장인물의 기능 분석은 보편성의 재고라는 측면에서 AaTh의 분류와 프롭의 형태론 적용 그리고 변별성의 재고라는 측면에서 셔이네누의 유형론 적용을 고려할수 있으며, 여기서 산출된 하나의 도식은 루마니아 민담이 갖는 고유의 구조와 유형을 이해하는 하나의 기준이 될 것이다.

영문 초록

The folktales (fairy tales) and the legends among the various genres of the oral literature preserve the elements of ritual and faith extincted long time ago. Therefore worldwide folktales included the Romanian folktales which were selected, recorded, deciphered and analyzed still up to our days. The tales, in the past, involve the shamanistic function limited by the gender, apart from the aesthetic function. People believed to prevent misfortunes and to protect them from evils through the narration of tales and the various themes which were handled by them became the matrix of the oral literature. This shamanistic function is the element of the 'collectivism' and 'tradition' for the folktales, and the narration of folktales in the relation between the storyteller and listener solidifies the 'integration' of the community. The unfolding of the narration has the standard plot through the 'dynamic states'. The general unfolding of the folktales consists of the repertoires of the introduction, the middle and the ending. The repertoire of the introduction is very important as an element which symbolizes the begin of the narration and the repertoire of the middle is the concentrated connection for the continuous story-telling. The repertoire of the ending ensures the hero's happiness which will be remained eternally and at the same time, promotes to return from the fairyland to the reality. If the individuality of each folk-tales which have common consciousness and factor is due to the pluralistic evolution (development) theory, the similarity of the type and form which we can observe generally in Romanian folktales results from the transmission and diffusion. From this point of view, the analysis of the hero's function and the unfolding of narration accepts, on one hand, 'the Aarne-Thompson's Classification' and 'V. Propp's Morphology of the folktale' for the universality and on the other hand, 'Lazăr Şăinenu's Typology' for the distinction. The result of these accepted theories will be a criterion through which we can understand the indigenous structures and types of Romanian folktale.
