T diagram을 활용한 탐구 수업이 초등 예비교사들의 과학적 소양 및 과학적 태도, 수업 인식에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 T diagram을 교육대학의 자연과학 탐구 수업에 활용하여 초등 예비교사들의 과학적 소양, 과학적 태도에 미치는 영향과 T diagram 활용 수업에 대한 인식을 알아보는데 있었다. 광역시 소재 교육대학교 1학년 자연과학개론을 수강하는 87명을 연구 대상으로 하였고, T diagram을 활용한 수업을 위해 초등교사로서 갖추어야 할 생명영역의 기본 지식과 초등 과학교과서 생명영역과 관련된 탐구 주제 14개를 선정하여 매주 1시간씩 14차시에 걸쳐 실시되었다. T diagram 활용탐구 수업은 준비, 탐구시도, 결론, 적용 단계로 진행하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, T diagram을 활용한 탐구 수업이 초등 예비 교사들의 과학적 소양의 향상에 효과적인 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, T diagram을 활용한 탐구 수업이 과학적 태도에 미치는 영향을 알아본 결과 통계적으로 유의하게 향상된 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, T diagram에 대한 인식 분석 결과, T diagram은 탐구 기반 학습에 유용하며 특히, 탐구과정 요소인 실험설계와 자료변형, 자료해석 측면에서 유용하다는 반응을 보였다. 그러나 T diagram을 구성하는데 필요 이상의 많은 시간이 요구된다는 반응도 있었다. 넷째, T diagram을 활용한 탐구 수업의 특징에 대해 설문을 분석한 결과, 가장 많은 코딩수를 기록한 것은 스스로 탐구 할 수 있다는 점이었으며, 다음으로 다양한 배경지식 요구, 활기찬 수업, 일상생활과의 연관 순으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was investigate the effects of T-diagram applied inquiry lessons on elementary school pre-service teachers' scientific literacy and attitude, and their perception of T-diagram through actual application of T-diagram in natural science inquiry lessons at a teachers' college. The study was conducted with 87 freshmen subjects enrolled in a natural science introductory course at a teachers' college located in a metropolitan city. The T-diagram applied lessons were conducted one hour a week over 14 trial sessions and covered 14 inquiry themes related to life science area covered in elementary school science textbook and basic knowledge in life science that elementary school teachers should have. The T-diagram applied lessons were carried out in four steps; preparation, inquiry trial, conclusion, and application. The results of this study were as follows. First, T-diagram applied inquiry lessons were found to be effective in improving scientific literacy of elementary school pre-service teachers. Second, examining the effects of T-diagram applied inquiry lessons on pre-service teachers' scientific attitude, results indicated that there was statistically significant improvement in scientific attitude of the elementary school pre-service teachers. Third, analysis on pre-service teachers' perception of T-diagram indicated that pre-service teachers viewed T-diagram useful for inquiry-based learning, and especially beneficial in aspects of inquiry process such as experimental design, data modification, and data interpretation. Fourth, according to survey analysis regarding the features of T-diagram applied inquiry lessons, results showed that 'Enables self-inquiry' topped the list with the highest coding score, followed by 'Requires background knowledge,' 'Animated lessons,' and 'Connected to daily life.'
