국문 초록

현재까지 초등학교와 중학교, 고등학교에서 공예교육은 활성화되지 않았고, 60% 이상의 학생들은 거의 공예를 경험하지 못하고 있으며, 학교의 공간과 시설 또한 공예교육을 시행하기에는 열악한 실정이다. 이러한 실정에서 2010년부터 문화예술교육의 한 분야로서 시행되고 있는 초등학교 공예교육은 교육수요자와 공예인 모두에게 가치가 있는 사업이다. 앞으로 주 5일제 수업과 문화에 대한 국가적인 문화예술교육 정책으로 공예교육의 기회는 더 확대될 것으로 보인다. 그러므로 우리 공예인들이 현대 사회에서 공예교육의 가치와 역할에 대하여 정확하게 인식하여 일반교육에 맞춘 교육내용을 개발하고 실천하는 일은 매우 중요하다. 공예교육의 역할과 방향을 모색하는 기본전제는 ‘공예교육이 학생들의 삶과 어떻게 연관될 것인가?’라는 것이다. 본 연구에서는 공예교육의 역할과 방향에 대한 초점을 ‘공예교육의 가치와 의미 제고’, ‘공예교육 프로그램의 체계적 개발’, ‘공예 강사의 역량 강화’ 그리고 ‘지역사회와의 연계’에 맞추었다. 한국의 교육계와 공예의 현장에서 이러한 모색들이 탐구되고 실천될 수 있다면, 본 사업의 구체적 목표인 ‘공예를 체계적으로 학습하고 교육받을 수 있는 기회 부여’, ‘공예 전문 강사 인력 발굴 및 일자리 창출’, ‘공예교육을 통한 전통문화 계승 및 예술적 창의력 향상 도모’의 성과뿐만 아니라 정부 문화예술교육정책의 비전인 ‘개개인의 문화적 삶의 질 향상’과 ‘사회의 문화 역량 강화’의 목표를 달성하는데도 기여할 것으로 사료된다.

영문 초록

Until now craft education doesn’t practice mostly in elementary school, middle school and high school. More than 60% students doesn’t experience craft realm, and the space and equipments of schools are not sufficient for craft education. In the while craft education in elementary school stated in 2010 by support of Korea Art and Culture Education Service. This is valuable opportunity for craft education consumers and craftsmen. Futhermore opportunity for art and craft education service will expand for 5 days school learning and cultural education policy of government. Then we recognize and explore contents in the value and the role of craft education in the future. In this study, fundamental premise is how does craft education relate to life of students. This study focuses on developmental directions in the craft education will ‘improvement of craft education’s value and meaning’, ‘systematic development of craft education’s programs’, ‘strength of craft educator’s ability’, and ‘connection of regional society’. We explore and practice these proposals in the Korean education and craft field, we will have the opportunity for learning and educating craft, scout for craft educators and search for their’s jobs as well as succession of cultural heritage and elevation artistic creation. I think these targets achieved, we will reached ‘improvement of cultural quality for personal life’ and ‘strength of society’s ability’ in the government’s policy for art and culture vision.
