국문 초록

본 연구는 圃隱 鄭夢周선생(이하 편의상 ‘포은’이라 한다)의 타고난 바 天性을 사주명리학이 제시하는 성격특성의 분석체계를 이용하여 원형에 접근하는 탐색적 人性연구이다. 비가시적인 마음의 세계를 논한다는 것 자체가 쉬운 일은 아니다. 그것도 무려 675년 전에 태어나 일세를 풍미하며 살다 간 역사적 위인에 대한 그만의 타고난 바를 論衡한다는 것은 더욱 난해한 일이다. ‘포은’이 후세에 전한 만고불변의 지조와 선비정신은 성현에 버금될 만큼 宏闊한데 비하여 그가 출생한 시점에서 수학기의 성장과정에 대한 행적을 알 수 있는 자료가 거의 전무한 현실이다. 따라서 지금까지 전해져오는 사료와 비문, 시편 등 문헌상의 기록들만으로는 ‘포은’의 인간적 正體性(identity)을 정립하기에는 항시 부족감을 갖게 한다. 본 연구자는 ‘포은’의 나타난 행적보다 그 이전에 이미 천성자체에 녹아있는 원형의 실체에 대한 탐구의욕에서 연구의 패러다임을 바꾸어야할 새로운 시도가 필요하였다. 즉, 서양의 인식론적 연구 방법의 틀에서 탈피하여 관측위치를 ‘포은’의 천성자체에다 설정하고 그의 행동을 설명해가는 동양의 인성론적 연구방법으로 연구 설계하였다. ‘포은’은 태어날 때 稟受된 천기가 어떠하였기에 그때 그곳에서 그렇게 행동하였을까? 그의 행보와 임기응변의 원동력이 과연 어디에서 나온 것일까? 라는 운명의 실체에 관한 물음에 답하기 위해서이다. 모든 역사적 기록들은 나타난 현상세계로서 마치 커다란 나무나 열매처럼 ‘보이는 세계’임에 반하여 출생 시부터 형성된 ‘포은’만의 본질적 원형은 흙속에 묻힌 뿌리처럼 ‘감추어진 세계’이다. 이와 같은 그의 감추어진 내면세계를 조명하는 올바른 측정도구가 만들어진다면 보다 더 가까이 진정한 ‘포은’을 만나볼 수 있을 것이라는 신념으로 아래와 같이 접근하였다. ⑴ 연구의 초점을 ‘포은’의 태어난 생년월일에 설정하고 출생시간에 대하여는 四柱命理學 체계에 따라 추정함으로서 사주명식을 정립하였다. ⑵ 사주팔자가 제시하는 ‘포은’의 본성구조를 탐색한 후에 연구자의 성격 특성이론과 직관을 통하여 正體性을 정립하였다. ⑶ 연구자의 성격검증방식에 따라 ‘포은’의 타고난 천성과 性格特性類型을 도출한 결과 아래와 같은 성격유형에 속한다는 결론을 얻게 되었다. ① 신강형의 성향이 우세한 성격유형이다. • 주관이 강하다. 고집이 세다. 추진력이 강하다. 독립적이다. 자신감이 넘친다. • 독단적이다. 보스형이다. 마음보다 행동이 앞선다. ② 내향형의 성향이 우세한 성격유형이다. • 인간관계가 고립적이다. 좀처럼 마음을 보이지 않는다. 보수적이다. • 말수가 적다 .스트레스가 쌓인다. 안일하다. 남에게 인색하다. ③ 도리형의 성향이 우세한 성격유형이다. • 암기총명과 판단재주를 겸비한 지략가이다. 지식 추구형이다. 모든 가치기준을 도리에 둔다. 외골수 기질이다. 자아실현의 목표는 명예로움에 있다. • 많은 재물보다 좋은 이름을 남기고 죽는 것을 선호한다. 선천적으로 태산도 옮길 것 같은 강한 기질의 소유자 이면서 內功을 좀체 외표하지 않고 당면한 처세와 이해관계에 대하여는 經緯에 맞도록 분별하였으며 모든 가치 판단의 기준을 오로지 自然的 道理에 둔 聖賢의 原型을 타고난 사람이라 할 수 있다.

영문 초록

This study was conducted to approach Poeun Jeong Mong-Ju(called as Poeun for convenience)’s natural character with the use of the analytical system for the personality characteristic which was suggested by Sajumyungri Theology. It was difficult to deal with an invisible world of someone’s personality, especially, who was born 675 years ago and had overwhelmed as a great man. The historical records and document on Poeun’s life did not exist nearly at all since the unchangeable virtue and the spirit of scholar delivered by him is extensive as much as saints did. Therefore, it was too insufficient to verify Poeun’s natural identity using the historical records, document, inscription, and poems. I thought that the new trial to know Poeun’s original identity should be introduced and the paradigm for this study should be changed. In that, the oriental treatise of human nature methodology focusing on Poeun’s natural character was used for this study instead of the western epistemological research methodology. This study was conducted to answer the fundamental questions what Poeun’s inborn secrets of nature was so he behaved at that time and where the motive power of his walk of life and adaptability comes from. The natural character concreted from the time he was born was in the invisible world such as the root in the ground while all of the historical records are based on the facts in the real world such as fruits grows on trees. Therefore, in accordance with my conviction that Poeun’s natural character could be revealed if the proper methodology was developed, I approached the issueas shown in below: (1) Poeun’s Sajumyungsik was set up by focusing on the year, month, and day of his birth while the time of his birth was estimated according to the Sajumyungri theological system. (2) Poeun’s identity was defined through the researcher’ spersonality theory and intuition after searching his characteristic structure suggested by Sajupalja. (3) As a result of the verification of Poeun’s inborn personality and characteristic type through the researcher’s verification methodology, it was concluded that he belonged to the following types. 1) “Sin-Gang” type as strong sprit was superior in Poeun’s personality. - Strong subjective, unbending, have a positive drive, independent, supremely confident - Dogmatic, bossy, and behaviorism 2) Introversion type was superior in his personality. - Isolative relationship, closed-minded, and conservative. - Taciturn, stressful, live in ease, and miserly 3) “Do-ri” as the pursuit of the system and regulation was superior in Poeun’s personality. - Having a good memory and intelligent, good judgment, resourceful mind, seeking truth, being consistent with what is right, being a single-minded, and having a strong desire to win fame. - Preferred to die honorably and leave his mark on history rather than to accumulate a fortune. Conclusively, Poeun was a man who had congenitallya strong disposition and characterarmor. In terms of the conduct of life for the matter in hand and relationship, he was thoughtful to conform to his career. He was born with a saint’s talent whose touchstone of all of his value judgments were based on the nature of things.
