발달장애아동의 기초 학습어휘 선정에 관한 연구

국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 특수교사가 학교 현장에서 가르쳐야 할 기초어휘를 품사별, 의미영역별로 선정하고 제시하여 유ㆍ초등학교 특수교사가 발달장애아동의 어휘교육 자료로 활용할 수 있는 기초어휘 목록을 제시하는데 있다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위하여 절충적 방법으로 자료를 분석하였다. 절충적 방법은 객관적 방법과 주관적 방법을 종합한 것으로 언어자료에 따라 객관적으로 선정된 어휘를 두고 주관적 판단으로 수정하여 보다 합리적인 어휘 선정에 이르고자 하는 방법이다(임지룡, 1991). 이 연구에서는 객관적 방법을 1차 기초어휘 선별 과정으로 설정하였고, 주관적 방법을 현장 특수교사 검증 과정으로 설정하였으며, 이 과정을 통해 나타난 결과를 절충하여 최종 기초어휘를 선정하였다. 이를 통해 제시된 기초어휘는 249개이다. 이 연구를 통해 제시된 기초어휘를 품사별로 살펴보면, 명사, 동사, 형용사, 수사가 90.4%를 차지하였고, 이 중 명사가 50.6%로 가장 많이 나타났다. 또한, 어휘의미에 따라 12가지 영역으로 분류하였는데, 동사와 형용사가 많이 포함된 ‘행동’과 ‘상태’ 영역의 어휘가 가장 많았으며, 그 다음으로는 명사 위주의 ‘사람ㆍ직업’, ‘계절ㆍ시간’, ‘교육ㆍ취미’ 영역, 명사와 수사 위주의 ‘위치ㆍ색ㆍ수’ 영역 순으로 나타났다. 그러나 최종 선정된 기초어휘 중 199개(79.9%)가 6개 영역에 편중되어 있었다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to suggest the basic vocabulary which is classified by the parts of speech and semantic property, and to propose a list of the basic vocabulary which should be taught on the field by a special education teacher, so that a special education teacher of Kindergarten and Junior level could utilize the suggested list of the basic vocabulary as a foundation data for the vocabulary education toward the students with developmental disabilities. In order to achieve this goal, by adopting an eclectic manner between an objective method and a subjective method, the basic vocabulary is set, and the total number of the basic vocabulary is 249. Looking into the basic vocabulary by the parts of speech, we can see that Noun, Verb, Adjective, and Numeral accounted for 90.4%, and Noun alone constituted 50.6% which is the biggest of all. The basic vocabulary is semantically classified into 12 areas. The semantic area of ‘Behavior’ and ‘Status’, which contains lots of verb and adjective, has the most words of the total, the semantic area of ‘Person/Job’, ‘Season/Time’, and ‘Education/Hobby’ is the next, and the semantic area of ‘Position/Color/Number’, which is mainly made up of Noun and Numeral, is the third. However, it seems that 199 words (79.9%) out of the total basic vocabulary were concentrated in 6 semantic areas.
