영문 초록

The foundation of the Yi dynasty is followed establishment of an asiatic form of centuralized feudalism which presupposes existence of the litterati bureaucracy and prefectural system(郡縣制度). For a good grasp of historical character on the asiatic feudalism, we have to research on the conditions of his prefectural system. Since the establishment of the asiatic feudalism is partly based on the prefectural system, it is necessary to study the village organs linked with district magistrate(守領) as well as structural change of the village. The study is arranged into four parts. The first part examines the background of the organization of the village system. In this regard, it carries out a comparison of the prefectural systems of the Koryo(高麗) and the Yi dynasty. The second part sets the details of social function of the prefectural magistrate. The district magistrates of the Yi dynasty depend heavily upon the local functionary system(鄕吏制), the fivehouseholds sytem(五家統法), and the village regulation(鄕約). In the third part, particular attention is given to the reorganization of the village society by the five-households system. The last part describes the structural change of the village society by the enforcement of village regulation.
