영문 초록

In my research, about 46 percent of the Korean family names is naturalized among 276 surnames to be in existence up to now. Naturalized family names are mostly from China owing to the active interchange in human and material with them and it occupies 20 percent of Korean population. On this respect this research is ultimately worthy of note to help the studying the history of interchange with China and the Korean races formed by undergoing the history fluctuations. Some people who based on the toadyism to the China assert vaguely without definite evidence that it is totally naturalized from China or relates their falsely charged origins to the China family names. Therefore this study would give much help to understand the human interchange between Korea and China by examine closely the change of the Koran premodern history caused by the settlement of the immigrants from China. First of all, this research has analyzed the meanings and contents of the naturalization then examined the motivations of naturalization, the role of the naturalizers and the formation of the policy after they settle down from the beginning of Koryo era through the mid-Chosun era, Finally this research has examined the processing of their establishment as a originator of their genealogy. The motivation of naturalization is differ from area and period but it is necessarily resulted from historical events. For example, on the ground of political and social, the necessity of cultural or military affair interchange and for the more high social position, they naturalized. There are both aspects the way to accept the naturalizers. The constructive reception helps to construct steady government by accept capable men while passive reception brought about social disorganization so it was caused the difficulty the naturalizers develop to the notable family.
