영문 초록

Chinese scholars maintain that Liaodong was chinese territory originally. But this paper proved that Liaodong and its residents was Korean. First of all, the language of Liaodong in the ancient period was the same thing as Ancient Josun, Koguryo, Dongye, Baekje, Silla, especially modern Korea. The ‘hol’ which meaned castle and the ‘dal’ which meaned mountain in Koguryo language were used in not only Koguryo but also Baekjie and Silla. Such phenomena mean that these country had the same language and they were all Koreans by race. ‘Gulu’, ‘mol’ ‘nae’ ‘damul’ ‘bayi’ and so on in Koguryo language are much alike or same as modern Korean language. Koguryo occupied Liaodong entirely at King Gwanggaeto period. But King Gwanggaeto did not denominate the castles ‘hol’. He denominated them ‘sheng’ which was Chinese character. It means that the place name of ‘hol’ or ‘dal’ in Liaodong had been used before King Gwanggaeto period. Before Koguryo’s advance, Yangmaek lived Taizi river valley, Sosumaek lived the vicinity of Dandong. Yangmaek and Sosumaek were the same race as Koguryo. On such situation, it is not difficult to guess that the residents of Liaodong peninsula on the southwest area of Taizi river valley and Dandong were also the same race as Koguryo. Han dynasty established Changhaijun when Yekun Namyou came to surrender. Changhaijun was located on the Liaodong peninsula. Yekun Namyou and his people was the same race as Koguryo. Therefore, the residents of Liaodong were Korean originally.
