국문 초록

북한에서 남한 영상물의 유통과 시청이 확대되면서 북한 주민들의 생활과 사회상 변화에 한류의 영향이 나타나고 있다. ‘분단의 한반도’에서 이루어지고 있는 ‘한류’ 현상은 분단의 공간을 뛰어 넘어 어떠한 힘을 발휘하고 있을지, 또한 어떠한 한계와 문제점에 봉착하고 있는 것은 아닌지 포괄적으로 검토할 필요성이 제기되고 있는 것이다. 남북한 분단 상황 속에서 지속되거나 재생산되고 있는 문제들의 복합구조를 생각한다면, 문화적 접근이야말로 다층적 의식과 행위양식에 대한 구성 해체와 이해를 가능하게 한다는 점에서 의미가 있다. 본 연구는 북한 주민의 남한 영상물 시청이 북한사회 내부에 어떠한 ‘하위문화(Subculture)를 형성하고 있으며, 이는 북한체제 내부는 물론 남북한 사회문화 공동체 형성에 어떠한 기회와 한계로 작용할 수 있는가를 살펴본다. 하위문화는 문화 관계망 가운데에서 하위 집단을 형성하는 국지적이며 차별적인 구조를 의미한다. 따라서 북한 내부에서도 남한 영상물 유통, 시청, 소감 공유 등의 네트워크를 통해 북한 내부를 포괄해 나갈 수 있는 문화로 자리 잡을 수 있을지를 논의한다.

영문 초록

With the distribution and viewing of South Korean video works are spreading among the North Korean residents, the influences of the Korean Wave are starting to show in the changes to their lives and social aspects. There has been a need raised to conduct a comprehensive review regarding what kind of power the “Korean Wave” phenomenon is exercising beyond the division in the “divided Korean Peninsula” and whether it has faced some limitations or problems. Given the compound structure of the issues that have continued or been reproduced in the situations of the divided two Koreas, a cultural approach is significant in that it allows for dismantling and understanding the compositions of multi-layered awareness and action styles. This study set out to investigate what kind of “subculture” was created in the North Korean society as a result of its residents watching South Korean video works, as well as what kind of opportunities and limitations it would present for the internal North Korean regime and the common social and cultural community between North and South Korea. Subculture is a local and differentiated structure that forms a subgroup in the cultural network. Thus it was discussed whether the subculture would establish itself as culture to embrace the inside of North Korea through a network of distributing, viewing, and sharing comments on South Korean video works.
