중등특수교사 양성 과정에서 교과교육의 문제점과 개선방안

국문 초록

이 연구는 현재 우리나라 중등특수교사 양성과 관련한 교과교육의 문제점을 알아보고 그에 대한 개선방안을 모색하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위하여 우선 교과교육의 학문적 성격 탐색과 교사 양성의 관점에서 사범대학 교과교육의 문제점을 살펴보았다. 그리고 이러한 문제점이 중등 특수교사 양성을 위한 교육과정 운영에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 알아보고, 특수교육의 정체성 확립을 위한 중등특수 교과교육의 나아갈 방향에 대해 고찰하여 보았다. 그 결과, 중등특수교사 자격을 위한 표시과목을 타 학과에 위탁교육하고 있는 현실이 가장 큰 문제이며, 위탁교육 내용이 실제 특수교육 현장에서 적용할 수 있는 교과 내용과 거리가 있으며, 교육 현장에서는 중등의 표시 과목을 무시하고 교사를 배치하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 문제점을 개선하기 위해서는 표시과목 운영 체제의 개선이 요망되고, 중등특수교사 자격 종별에 대한 대안 마련이 시급함을 제시하였다. 아울러 중등특수교사 자격 기준 개선을 위한 관련 법령 및 지침에 대한 개정이 필요함을 제기하였다

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to investigate the problems of subject instruction training for secondary special education teachers in Korea and to find ways for improvement. For the purpose, the problems of subject instruction at the teachers’ colleges were first examined in terms of its academic nature and the teachers training. In addition, the influence of these problems on the curriculum operation for secondary special education teachers was examined. Moreover, future directions of subject instruction training for secondary special education teachers were investigated in order to establish the identity of special education. As a result, the biggest problem with secondary special education teachers who got standard curriculum training was acquisition of area of specialization in the other departments. Also, the content of the commissioned education was far from the curriculum content that can be applied in their field. Furthermore, the teachers were placed in the field without considering their area of specialization. To solve these problems, the operating system for acquisition of area of specialization should be improved and an alternative qualification process for secondary special education teachers should be provided as soon as possible. Additionally, relevant laws and guidelines should be amended in order to improve eligibility criteria for secondary special education teachers.
