국가수준 학업성취도 평가 결과의 지역간 학력 차이에 따른 초.중.고 학교특성 분석

국문 초록

국가수준 학업성취도 평가가 전수로 확대 실시됨에 따라 그 목적도 학생 개개인의 성취수준을 진단, 보정하고 학교 교육의 책무성을 점검, 지원하는 것으로 확장되었다. 학생 전체에 대한 분석이 처음 시작된 2009년 학업성취도 평가결과와 학교 및 학생 설문조사결과를 기본으로 이 연구는 지역의 학력차이를 유발하는 학교 주요 특성을 비교분석하였다. 지역수준에서 학업성취도와의 관계있는 학교특성을 탐색하기 위해 교과별 우수학력 평균비율 상위 10%와 기초미달 평균비율 하위 10%에 해당하는 지역교육청(고등학교는 시군구, 단 특목고 제외)을 군집화하여 설문 응답 중 학교특성변인을 지수화하여 그 차이를 분석하였다. 학습부진 지도방법에 대한 차이는 상․하위 군집의 특성이라기보다 해당 시․도교육청 방 침에 따라 차별적으로 시행한 것으로 보인다. 학생풍토와 학부모 관심 모두 각 학교급에서 상.하위 집단간 매우 의미있는 차이를 보이고 특히 학부모 관심의 차이가 더 심각하다. 방과후 학습유형은 사교육 접근성에 따라 차이가 나며 지역적으로 학원/과외 등 사교육을 받기 어려운 곳일수록 방과후학교가 긍정적 효과를 보이고 있다. 학업성취도 분석결과를 어떻게 의미있게 교육정책과 연계하는가에 따라 전수평가의 정당성을 확보하게 될 것이다.

영문 초록

As the national educational policy focuses on establishment of 'the system to support improvement of basic academic ability' and school accountability system in recent years, the NAEA (National Assessment of Educational Achievement) has been carried out since 2008 for all the students in target grade. The purposes of NAEA has been extended to diagnosing and correcting the achievement level of individual students, and inspecting and supporting school education. Therefore, the purposes of this study were: first, to understand the academic achievement gap between subjects, regions and local educational authorities. Understanding relationships among variables explaining student's academic achievement is an important task that serves as an evidence for determining factors to consider when evaluating school accountability. In order to analyze the background variables in relation with characteristics of schools and individual students, an survey was carried out targeting all the principals of schools and all students. The analysis of achievement gap between districts provided us, as expected, with the status of academic achievement from a different point of view than those acquired with the analysis in the aspect of size of the area. Second, in the analysis of student climate, it was found that students with better association with friends get higher achievement. Good association with friends and teachers makes the students happy in schools, resulting in successful academic achievement. Third, good school climate affects positively on academic achievement. The school climates considered in analysis includes the students' attitude to school facilities, intention to succeed in school life, will to get good academic reports at school, respect for teachers, and pride on their schools.
