KIDS VOICE를 활용한 AAC 중재가 뇌성마비아동의 어휘표현에 미치는 효과

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 구어를 사용하지 못하는 초등부 뇌성마비 학생 3명을 대상으로 다이나믹 디스플레이(Dynamic Display), 음성합성 그리고 음성출력 지원 의사소통 프로그램인 키즈보이스(KIDS VOICE)키즈보이스(KIDS VOICE) : 정보통신문화진흥원, 국립특수교육원의 연구사업 지원으로 이화여대 특수교육연구소, 한국전자통신연구원, KAIST, (주)유비큐 및 본 연구자가 참여하여 개발한 국내 최초 하이테크 AAC 프로그램. 사용훈련을 실시하였다. 키즈보이스를 활용한 중재는 다이나믹 디스플레이기능을 통해 그림상징과 문자를 동시에 제공하며 상징 배열을 바꾸지 않고 어휘 확장이 가능하다. 또 음성합성을 통해 문자를 전자적 음성으로 합성하여 음성출력이 가능한 특징을 가지고 있다. 이러한 특징을 가진 키즈보이스를 가게 놀이, 장난감 놀이, 간식 놀이 활동 중심으로 중재에 활용한 연구 결과, 대상 학생의 어휘 표현의 길이가 핵심어휘 1개를 표현하는 수준에서 3개의 어휘를 조합하는 수준으로 증가 되었다. 또 어휘표현의 적절성은 어휘 습득에 따라 매 회기마다 제공되는 기회에 적절한 어휘 표현이 점차적으로 향상되는 것을 볼 수 있었다. 모든 대상 학생들의 어순의 적절성 표현은 어순이 발생하는 두개의 어휘 표현이 나타나는 시점에서 점차적으로 나타나다가 3개의 어휘 표현이 나타나는 중재 후반부에까지 지속적으로 증가하는 경향을 보였다. 중재를 통해 습득된 어휘 확장 표현, 어휘표현의 적절성, 표현된 어순의 적절성이 중재단계와 유사한 구조를 가진 공작놀이 활동에서도 일반화 되었으며, 중재가 종료된 3주 이후 기초선과 동일한 조건에서도 유지되었다.

영문 초록

As cerebral palsy children generally cannot interact effectively and are only able to partially communicate, they require a vehicle of communication based on functional language, used by normal speakers, in order to express their basic thinking and needs, join activities, and interact with persons living in a place or belonging to a group. To solve the problem of a vehicle based on functional communication, and to develop augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) aids for use in schools, basic systematic research is needed to ensure educational achievement through communication intervention. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to examine whether the effect of AAC intervention using KIDS VOICE along with Dynamic Display, voice-synthesis and voice output can ensure nonverbal, cerebral palsy, linguistic expression independently and functionally. From the review results, the following conclusions were made: (1) The word expression range of all child subjects was increased by AAC intervention using KIDS VOICE along with Dynamic Display, voice-synthesis and voice output; (2) The word expression adjustment was accomplished by AAC intervention using KIDS VOICE along with Dynamic Display, voice-synthesis and voice output; (3) The word expression range and word expression adjustment were generalized at other places by AAC intervention using KIDS VOICE along with Dynamic Display, voice-synthesis and voice output; (4) The word expression range and word expression adjustment by AAC intervention using KIDS VOICE along with Dynamic Display, voice-synthesis and voice output were maintained until the intervention was completed.
