국문 초록

본 연구에서는 심층면담으로 실외놀이에서의 교사 역할에 대한 인식을 알아보고, 실외놀이 시간 동안 실제 교사의 행동을 참여 관찰하고 아울러 실외놀이 환경과 주간 활동 계획안을 검토함으로써 교사의 역할 인식이 실제에 어떻게 반영되는지를 총체적으로 분석해 보고자 한다. 또한 교사가 담당하고 있는 학급 유아의 연령에 따라 교사의 역할 인식과 실제 행동이 어떠한지 비교해 보고 이를 기초로 실외놀이에서의 교사의 역할을 재조명 해보고자 한다.

영문 초록

This study examined teachers' thinking and practices in relation to the roles of the teacher in children's outdoor play. The subjects of this study were 10 teachers(five 3-year-old' children's teachers, five 5-year-old' children's teachers). Data on teachers' s roles were collected from teacher interviews and participant observations in outdoor play. Results revealed that teachers had a distinct and shared belief about children's outdoor play that teachers should do the following: safety supervision, pre-planning, and teachers' intervention. Observation of children's outdoor play supported teachers' reports of their beliefs about their role outdoors. These teachers' beliefs were partly consistent with teachers' actual behaviors. Furthermore, teachers did show 'care behaviors' during outdoor play although they did not perceive that they did.
