국문 초록

오늘날 사람들의 욕구가 훨씬 다양화, 고도화되고, 세계화의 영향으로 외국인들의 거주 및 왕래가 잦아짐으로써 기존 사인시스템에 대한 변화가 요구되고 있다. 특히 지방자치시대를 맞이하여 지역에서 열리는 축제를 포함한 지역적 특성을 효과적으로 반영하고 지역을 방문하는 다양한 사람들이 편리하게 이용할 수 있는 사인시스템의 개발이 요청되고 있다. 본 연구는 인천시 부평구의 상징도로인 부평로 가로환경을 개선하고 부평구의 대표적인 거리축제인 풍물축제를 활성화하기위한 방안의 하나로 부평로의 종합안내사인, 방향유도사인, 관광안내사인을 디자인개발하기위해 이루어졌다. 연구를 위해 첫째, 사인시스템의 종류 및 특성과 지역이미지 통합과 축제 활성화를 위한 사인시스템의 역할에 대해 문헌 고찰하였다. 둘째, 사인시스템개발에 필요한 대상지의 지역적 특성 파악을 위해 부평구의 현황, 그리고 부평구의 지역이미지 및 부평로에서 매년 개최되는 거리축제인 풍물축제를 조사하였다. 셋째, 사인시스템디자인개발을 위한 디자인요소 추출을 위해 일본 도쿄의 록본기힐, 요코하마 미나토미라이지역의 사인시스템을 실태 조사하였고 부평로에 설치되어 있는 사인시스템을 조사 분석하여 문제점 및 개선방향을 구체적으로 파악하였다. 마지막으로 지역적 특성과 부평로를 이용하는 다양한 사람들의 니즈 등을 고려하면서 종합안내사인, 방향유도사인, 관광안내사인의 디자인을 제안하였다.

영문 초록

Considering diversified people's needs and increasing number of foreigners who visit and reside in the country under globalization trend, changes of existing signs are required. Especially, facing the local autonomy period, it is necessary to create a sign system which reflects regional characteristics and helps a variety of visitors to use it conveniently. This study was carried out to develop 'general information sign', 'direction sign' and 'tourist information sign' to improve the street environment of Bupyong-ro which is a symbolic road of Bupyong District, Inchon and revitalize Pungmul Festival which is the representative street festival. For the research, the first, literature study was carried out over the characteristics of signs and the role of sign system for the integration of regional images and the revitalization of festivals. The second, in order to identify its regional characteristics, the current situation of Bupyong District, the images of Bupyong District and Pungmul Festival were analyzed. The third, a field study to draw design elements of signs was conducted for sign systems in Rokponggi Hill of Tokyo and Minatomira of Yokohama, Japan as well as an existing sign system in Bupyong-ro. As a result of synthesis of the analysis, its design directions were formulated. Finally, three types of sign designs which reflect the regional characteristics and various people's needs were proposed.
