청년층 진로장애 인식 분석에 기초한 평생학습적 대안 탐색 연구

국문 초록

최근 청년층의 실업문제는 지속적으로 누적되고 있고 이들의 삶의 문제 해결과 개선을 위한 평생학습차원에서 고려해야 할 잠재적 요구도 계속해서 증폭되고 있다. 이 연구는 삶의 중심축이 학교에서 일터로 이동하는 청년기라는 삶의 여정 속에서, 학교를 떠났으나 취업에 실패하였거나 아예 시도를 포기한 청년층이 청년기라는 특정 시기에 진로개발 과정에서 경험하는 어려움이 과 연 무엇이며 어떠한 평생학습 관련 지원이 필요한가를 탐색하고자 한다. 특히 이들이 지니는 개인적 특성과 취약 유형에 따라 진로개발 관련 학습요구, 즉 직업세계로의 이행 과정에서 주관적으로 인식하는 어려움의 내용과 수준에 차이가 있는가에 주목하고, 평생학습 영역에서 고려해야 할 대안을 모색하고자 한다. 이러한 연구목적을 달성하기 위하여 미취업상태의 청년층(만15-29세) 669명의 진로장애 인식 수준을 분석한 결과, 성별(남성>여성), 교육수준(고학력자>저학력자), 거주지역 크기(대도시>중소 도시), 미취업 기간(장>단) 등과 같은 청년의 개인적 특성에 따라 진로개발 과정에서 경험하는 어려움의 종류와 정도에 차이가 드러났다. 또한 저학력집단, 미취업장기화집단, 니트족 등의 취약 유형에 따라서도 주관적으로 인식하는 어려움의 종류와 정도에 차이가 발견되었다. 이 같은 연구 결과를 기반으로 진로개발과정에서 구직에 어려움을 경험하는 청년들에게 평생학습 영역에서 어떠한 학습적 지원이 이루어져야 할 것인가에 대하여 논의하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to understand differences of perceived career barriers of vulnerable youth who has weakness of employability according to the individual demographic characteristics and career-relational vulnerable patterns. In order to attain this purpose, the collected 669 coding data of unemployed youth between year 15 and 29 who answered a questionnaire by on and off were analyzed. The results of analyses showed that vulnerable youth who has weakness of employability perceived career barriers differently according to gender, age, level of education, unemployed period, size of residence, and their vulnerable patterns. These findings provide that the tailored career development support model should be suggested for them instead of applying career decision-making pyramid model for youth on the average. Second, support programs and educational policies should be developed in order to satisfy their needs respectively, even though their vulnerable status seems to be similar. Third, support programs which are offered in order to develop their employability such as internship programs need to be considered and investigated thoroughly their effectiveness before applying to vulnerable youth.
