국문 초록

실물경기변동이론 중 미국 경기변동의 특성을 잘 설명하고 있는 것으로 평가받고 있는 Becker류의 가계생산모형이 미국 이외 국가의 경기변동 설명에도 여전히 유용한 이론인지의 논의와 관련하여 본 연구는 단순 폐쇄경제 가계생산모형 또는 이를 기반으로 조정된 가계생산모형이 한국 경제의 경기변동도 성공적으로 설명하고 있는지를 살펴보았다. 모형 및 캘리브레이션을 이용한 시뮬레이션의 결과 기본적인 가계생산 모형에 시장자본의 조정비용과 가계생산부문의 기술충격을 고려한 조정된 가계생산모형 또는 해외충격을 고려한 가계생산모형은 모두 한국경제의 경기순환적인 특성들을 성공적으로 설명하고 있음을 발견하였다.

영문 초록

The Beckerian home production model has proven fairly successful in matching the business cycle characteristics in the aggregate US data, but it remains an open question as to whether the model will prove useful when applied to other economies. In this paper, we attempt to determine whether a simple closed economy home production model or any variants of it, including an appropriately constructed home production model with a foreign trade shock, are capable of matching the business characteristics of the Korean economy. We determined that the home production model, appropriately calibrated, survived the sensitivity test in the case of the Korean economy.
