유아들의 수학적 경험이 발생하는 상황과 교사의 중재 방법 탐색

국문 초록

  본 연구는 유치원의 하루 일과 중 유아들은 어떠한 상황에서 수학적 경험을 하며, 이때 교사는 어떠한 역할을 하는지를 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 유치원의 만 4세 학급 유아들을 참여 관찰하여 자료를 분석하였다. 연구 결과, ‘유아들의 놀이 상황’, ‘문제를 해결해야 하는 상황’, ‘유아 스스로 배우기를 원하는 상황’, ‘유아가 자신의 유능함을 드러내고자 하는 상황’에서 수학적 경험이 발생하는 것을 알 수 있었다. 유아들이 비형식적인 방법으로 수학적 경험을 할 때 교사는 어떤 역할을 하는지 알아본 결과, ‘개입의 적절한 시기를 결정하기’, ‘질문으로 유아가 수학을 배우도록 돕기’, ‘다른 활동과 통합하기’로 나타났다.

영문 초록

  The present study purposed to examine in what situation young children have mathematical experiences during their daily routine at a kindergarten operating activity oriented inclusive curriculums, and what roles teachers play in such situations. For this purpose, this study observed four year old children at a kindergarten offering activity oriented curriculums and analyzed collected data. According to the results of the analysis, young children had mathematical experiences in "playing situation", "problem solving situation", "situation when the children want to learn by themselves", and "situation when they try to display their competence. In the results of examining what roles teachers can play when young children have mathematical experiences by informal methods, we observed teachers" roles of helping children"s mathematical learning through "determining the proper time of guidance", "asking questions", and "making efforts to integrate with other activities.
