슈타이너의 인지학적 관점에 따른 유아 및 아동의 발달과정

국문 초록

  본 연구는 슈타이너의 인간에 대한 총체적 이해를 보여주는 인지학(anthroposophy)에 기초하여 유아 및 아동발달의 과정을 고찰하고 특히 그 발달 과정이 내포하고 있는 인지학적 의미를 밝히고자 하였다. 이를 위해서 슈타이너가 제시한 신체, 영혼, 정신의 통합체로서의 인간이해를 살피고 이어서 인간의 4가지 구성체인 물리적 신체, 에테르체(ether body)와 아스트랄체(astral body), 자아(self)를 중심으로 인지학의 개요를 살펴본 후, 이러한 인지학적 이해의 기반위에서 유아와 아동의 발달과정을 고찰하였다. 아울러 슈타이너의 인지학적 발달이론이 주는 시사점을 다음과 같이 도출하였다. 첫째, 사회적 요구와 이념에 매여있는 교육이 아동의 인격 자체에서 출발할 것을 강조함으로써 교육의 패러다임 전환을 요청한다. 둘째, 아동기의 충분한 신체감각 발달이 갖는 중요성을 제시한다. 셋째, 아동기 교육의 핵심과제인 감성의 발달이 그 이후의 발달과정에 대해 갖는 중요성을 제시한다. 넷째, 교육의 이해와 실천은 통합적 인간이해를 전제로 할 때 단지 기술의 수준에서 벗어나 전체의 진정한 교육적 질서를 형성할 것이다.

영문 초록

  This study aims to explore the development process of infant and children, focused on anthroposophy; this study particularly examines anthroposophy in terms of its educational expressions. Most of all, deploying the arguments, this study closely investigates Steiner"s notion of human being: how he regards human being as the integral parts of body, soul and spirit. Further, this study probes into four composition of human being, what is so called, "physical body," "ether body," "astral body," and self," etc.; also describes their relations within the compositions in detail.
  Steiner, who divides the level of development process into seven year terms, sees the birth of "ether body" in the first seven year of human being"s entire lifespan. In the period of "ether body," human being accomplishes bodily development, in which the main principle of infant education depends on "imitation." This study reinterprets the development process of infant in view of anthroposophy. Moreover, Steiner argues that the second period of infant"s development process focuses on the development of emotion, which is also the birth of astral body. In this period, the principle of infant education concentrates on his obedience towards authority. This study researches the development of emotion in the light of anthroposophical meaning.
  Finally, Steiner"s anthroposophical development theory draws our attention as follows: first, his thoughts, which stresses children"s character as the goal of education, rather than focusing on social demand and ideology, asks us new transition of educational paradigm. Second, his theory presents us with the significance of the physical development in infancy. Third, Steiner"s theory suggests that the development of emotion, which is the essence of children education, has a strong influence on children"s development process. Lastly, his anthroposophy implies that the practice / understanding of education can be fully accomplished within the order of education, if we understand human beings in comprehensive ways.
