국문 초록

  본 연구는 자녀가 지각한 부모의 화목 정도가 자녀의 자아존중감에 어떠한 영향을 미치는가를 밝힘으로써 부모교육의 기초자료를 얻고자 하였다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위한 본 연구의 구체적인 연구 내용은 다음과 같다.
  첫째, 부모의 화목 정도와 자녀의 자아존중감과의 상관관계 둘째, 학생의 인구학적 요인과 학생의 가정의 사회ㆍ경제적 요인이 학생의 자아존중감에 미치는 영향 셋째, 학생의 인적요인과 가정의 사회ㆍ경제적 요인이 부모의 화목 정도에 미치는 영향 등을 밝힌다.
  본 연구는 청주시내 남녀 고등학생 407명을 대상으로 질문지 조사가 실시되었으며 수집된 자료의 통계분석은 SPSS Version 11.0을 이용하여 이루어졌다.
  연구결과 부모의 화목 정도와 자녀의 자아존중감은 매우 유의미한 정적 상관관계를 보였고, 여학생의 자아존중감이 남학생보다 의미 있게 낮은(p＜.01) 점 등 의의 있는 통계분석결과를 얻었다.
  본 연구의 제한점으로는 연구의 대상에 부모가 포함되지 못하고 자녀가 지각한 부모의 화목을 중심으로 연구한 것이며, 후속 연구에는 부모를 대상으로 하는 연구도 포함되어야 할 것이다. 또한 이연구의 결과는 부모교육 자료로 활용되어서 부모의 화목 정도를 높이기 위한 프로그램이 개발되어야 할 것을 제안한다.

영문 초록

  The purpose of this research is to find out the affect of parent"s mutual affection on children"s self-respect. In order to achieve this, the following methods were used.
  The first step was to find out the correlation between parent"s mutual affection and children"s self-respect. The next step was finding out the relationship between children"s degree of self-respect, students" demographical factor, and families" socioeconomic factor. Lastly, this research focused on the relationships among parents" degree of mutual affection, students" demographical factor, and families" socioeconomic factor.
  Questionnaires were collected from four hundred and seven male and female students. These students sampled from high schools in Cheongju city area for this research. The collected data were statistically analyzed with SPSS Version 11.0 software.
  The finding of this research can be summarized as follows. As parents" socioeconomic status is higher, their degree of mutual affection increased. Furthermore, as parent"s mutual affection grows the children"s self-respect also grew. The results shows parent"s mutual affection has meaningful affect on improving children"s self-respect. Therefore, it is very important for the parents to love each other and continuously grow affection for their spouse. The children raised in these loving family will have more conscious about their self respect and pride.
  The limitations of this research is that the parents were not included in the research object. The research was done solely based on the children"s perception of their parents" mutual affection. The follow up research should include parents in the research as well. As a proposal, a program for improving parents" mutual affection reflecting the result of this research should be developed in order to improve children"s self-respect.
