국문 초록

  본 연구의 목적은 교육변화의 원인 및 실행 양상과 관련하며 우리의 학문적 맥락에서 그 동안 상대적으로 다루어지지 않았던 관점들, 교육변화의 실행 과제 등에 관하여 살펴봄으로써 연구 결과와 정책 대안 간의 연결성을 높이고자 한다. 이러한 목적에 따라 본문에서는 교육 변화의 세계적 경향성, 그러한 변화를 바라보는 전통적인 관점과 대안적인 관점, 세계적 교육 변화 경향성에 따른 문제점 등을 분석하여, 오늘날 세계 교육이 왜 수렴되어 가는지, 그러한 경향 속에서 경시되어 질 수 있는 요소는 무엇인지, 그리고 세계화와의 관련성을 점증적으로 더해가는 개별 국가의 교육 변화가 추구하고자 하는 교육개혁의 의미 실현을 위해서는 어떠한 노력과 연구가 요구되는지 등에 관한 답변을 시도하고자 하였다. 아울러 본 논문은 한 국가의 교육변화라는 것이 세계적인 추세, 세계적인 담론과의 관련성을 더해 가는 방향으로 추진되게 될 때, 이러한 변화로부터의 야기 될 수 있는 부정적인 영향을 최소화 하는 방안으로, 세계적인 교육담론ㆍ추세와 우리 교육과의 관련성에 대한 비판적인 분석, 비교교육학 연구 관점의 전환, 그리고 교육변화 실행의 괴정(process)에 영항을 미치는 요인들의 파악 및 이들 간의 보다 협력적인 관계성 확보 등을 중심으로 제시하고 있다.

영문 초록

  The purpose of this study is to reconstitute the meanings, effects, and implications of the curriculum change in Korea and to reestablish the new relationships among policy makers, scholars, and teachers to address problems in educational reform.
  Currently a reason for reform practice in a nation has to do with the complex force of educational discourse in the world. This means that policy makers tend to less critically immerse into the educational discourse and educational practice in today’s world while they overemphasize the benefits from a certain reform that were tested in other nations. In doing so, nowadays the meanings of educational reform become more complex and ambiguous because a reform creates disparities between its proposal and outcome.
  In this research, I attempted to analyze the international trend in curriculum changes and their relations to individual nations" reform practice. This includes identifying general trends in curriculum practices in today"s world and comparing two traditional perspectives along with an alternative perspective toward the trend.
  Findings of this study suggests that policy makers, teachers, and scholars need to understand the relationship between the curriculum changes in Korea and the complex force of educational discourse worldwide so that people become more critical of their engagement with it. This dissertation concludes with the implications of the study for educational reforms aimed at rethinking the meaning of curriculum change and aimed at addressing problems of inclusion/exclusion entangled with reform practices.
