영문 초록

  This study focuses on the assumption that the voice of the Other should be considered as essential object―objet petit a― of subject" desire and perverse remainder that appeared at the heart of the normal subject. The logic of Great Expectations is the expression of a single structure in which the law gives rise to antinomies, and presents us with the death of the father, castration, expulsion, and death. The most elementary form of versagung is the betrayal of the father, that is, withdrawal from the symbolic network as in Magwitch and Pip. This is how we are to interpret Great Expectations in terms of versagung as something within the law that contradicts the law. In conclusion, chaos of the encounter of the real like criminal Magwitch"s voice the subject Pip takes is transformed into a meaningful narrative. Perversity evident in fantasy marks a subject"s impossible relation to the objet petit a which comes to the place of versagung. In particular, Great Expectations represents the undetachable relation between the Symbolic and the Real. In Great Expectations, the Real is revealed as the constitutive other of the symbolic.
