국문 초록

  이 논문은 2005년에 조사된 한국노동패널 8차년도 데이터를 사용하여, 한국에서 노동조합 가입성향과 노동조합 대표권의 갭의 크기를 추정해보았다. 노동조합이 없는 사업장에 고용된 노동자들의 노조가입성향을 분석해본 결과, 연령이 낮을수록, 여성보다는 남성의, 정규직보다는 비정규직의 가입성향이 통계적으로 유의하게 높았다.
  또한 노동조합 공급의 부재로 인해 발생하는 노동조합 대표권의 갭의 크기는 남성이 여성보다, 청년층이 성년층보다, 비정규직이 정규직보다 컸다. 만약 노동조합의 공급 부재가 완전히 해소되어 좌절된 노조수요가 모두 충족된다면, 도달할 수 있는 한국의 노조조직률의 최대치는 현재의 3.5배를 상회하는 약 45.9%에 달할 것으로 추정되며, 이는 향후 노조조직률의 전망과 관련하여 유의미한 함의를 제공해준다.

영문 초록

  Using the 8th Korea Labor & Income Panel Study(KLIPS), this research estimated the determinants of union membership and the size of union representational gap in Korea.
  Based on the statistical result on the employees" determinants of union membership in nonunion firms, the younger, male, and nonstandard workers" determinants of union membership were more significant rather than the aged, female, and standard workers.
  Similarly, in case of the union representational gap caused by the insufficiency of union supplies, male, the younger, and nonstandard employees were found to be more significant.
  If the union supplies were sufficient enough to satisfy the condition of the frustrated demand for union, the maximum value of unionization rate in Korea was forecast to be 45.9 percent which exceeded the current unionization rate by three and a half times approximately. This result suggests significant implications for the unionization related outlook in the future.
