국문 초록

  이 논문은 DEA 방법과 Malmquist지수를 이용하여 중국의 지역별 총요소생산성과 그 결정요인에 대한 실증분석을 하고 있다. 총요소생산성 추계는 지역별 공업 데이터를 이용 하였다. Malmquist지수 분석결과에 의하면 1996년-2003년 기간 동안 전국 평균 총요소생산성은 3.8%가 증가했는데, 동부 연해안 지역은 7.6%, 중서부 내륙지역은 3.8%가 증가해 지역별 격차가 심했다. 이 논문의 분석에 의하면 지역별 총요소생산성의 증가요인은 주로 기술진보에 의한 것이지 효율변화에 기인한 것은 아니다.
  본 논문은 지역별 총요소생산성의 차이를 초래하는 결정요인에 대한 분석을 병행하고 있다. 이를 위해 8 가지의 독립변수를 설정하여 여섯 가지의 가설을 검정하기 위한 다중회귀 모형을 설정하였다. 모형의 추정에는 OLS 방법 이외에도 SWR, 2SLS, GMM 등 다양한 방법을 이용하고 있다. 회귀분석 결과에 의하면, 공업의 규모, 기술혁신능력, 그리고 정부 예산의 자립도가 지역별 총요소생산성에 대한 주요한 결정요인으로 나타나고 있다.

영문 초록

  This paper uses DEA method and Malmquist index which analyzes regional total factor productivity in China. The results of Malmquist analysis suggest that regional total factor productivity of industry increased by 3.8% during 1996-2003, with increase of 7.6% in Eastern region, and 3.8% in Middle and Western regions respectively. This paper finds that the total factor productivity results from technological progress, not efficiency change in 1996-2003. This paper also analyzes the determinants of total factor productivity. The findings show that the scale of industry, technology innovation capacity and government budget independence degrees are all important explanatory variables during 1996-2003.
