특수학급교사의 탈진감에 관한 연구

국문 초록

  본 연구는 특수학급교사들이 일반학교 현장에서 경험하는 탈진 정도를 살펴보는데 그 목적을 두고 있다. P시에 근무하는 초ㆍ중ㆍ고등학교 특수학급교사 총 95명을 대상으로 Maslach 탈진검사지(Maslach Burnout Inventory, MBI)를 통해 자료를 수집하였다. 연구 결과 특수학급교사는 감정적 소진 영역과 개인적 성취 감소 영역에서 평균 수준이고 비인격화 영역에서는 하위 수준인 것으로 밝혀졌다. 교사 변인별(성별, 연령별, 근무경력별, 학교급별) 탈진 정도를 비교분석한 결과 연령에 있어서는 감정적 소진 영역에서 유의미한 차이가 나타났으며, 사후분석 결과 20-30세 미만 교사집단과 40-50세 미만 교사집단 간에 차이가 있었다. 교사의 성별과 근무경력, 학교급에 따른 차이는 없는 것으로 나타났다. 다만 경력기간 별 점수를 탈진 수준에 따라 살펴본 결과 상위수준의 평균점수를 보인 10-15년 경력 교사 집단을 제외한 다른 교사 집단들은 개인적 성취감 감소 영역에서 평균수준의 탈진정도로 양호한 수준인 것으로 밝혀졌다. 교사의 각 변인과 탈진 정도 간의 상관관계를 살펴본 결과 연령과 심리적 소진 정도 간에 부적 상관관계가, 학교급과 심리적 소진 정도 간에 정적 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

  This study examines burnout among resource room teachers in regular school settings depending on sex, age, career, and the school level. Total of 95 teachers in P city are drawn as samples of this study. Maslach Burnout Inventory(MBI) containing three dimensions that constitute the burnout symptoms (emotional exhaustion, lack of personal accomplishment, and depersonalization) is given to the teachers by an e-mail.
  According to the results, the resource room teachers show the average levels in the areas of emotional exhaustion and the lack of personal accomplishment, but low level in the area of depersonalization. No significant differences are observed on each variable(sex, work year and school level), except age. The group at the age of 40 through 50 scores significantly lower than the group at the age of 20 through 30. According to the mean scores about the lack of personal accomplishment in the burnout levels are on the average. Only the group of the teachers with 10-15 year teaching experience shows high level of lack of personal accomplishment. The negative relationship between sex and emotional exhaustion and the positive relationship between the school level and emotional exhaustion are identified in this study.
