영문 초록

  This study treats South and North Korean poems dealing with the Nak-dong gang in the Korean war. The contents and visions are not simple from the appreciation about Nak-dong gang in the tragic historical situation to the battle around Nak-dong gang defensive line. It is the intention of this article to elicit the literary significance of the works to poeticize Nak-dong gang in the Korean wartime. Nak-dong gang in the Korean war has the historical significance as the tragic field to estimate the battle as the fratricidal war boundary. There is a difference of the vision between South and North Korea in poems encapsulating of Nak-dong gang. The following is the summarized finishing of the discussion. First of all, in South Korea case Nak-dong gang is recognized as the tragic field rather than the willingness to win the battle. Nak-dong gang has the stronger meaning as the tragic field covered with the blood and dead bodies , then the internalized sentimental tone is emerged and furthermore there was the earnest desire to wish the historical prospect as eternity of Nak-dong gang after the war. In North Korea case Nak-dong gang has the significance in the militant aspect as the field inspiring the willingness and belief to win the battle for the release of the country. The experience as the entry into the crossing Nak-dong gang for the release of the country is important and then Nak-dong gang is recognized as the field of the belief for the country liberation. Although there are some differences in poems handling Nak-dong gang as the main theme, they are based on the war experience and set the victory for the defense of Nak-dong gang in common. In South Korean poems of Nak-dong gang the aggressive expression is weak while North Korean poems is closer to the non-fiction literature. But above all Nak-dong gang is the important filed expressing the irony of the Korean war that is dubious to divide the enemy from the fellow and in the ironical historic situation the record of the battlefield where people were fighting for the immediate victory is South and North Korean poems dealing with the Nak-dong gang. In this context it is not free that Nak-dong gang has been writing as the important literary theme after the Korean war.
