지구시민사회 맥락에서 본 여성주의 시민의 정체성

국문 초록

  본 논문은 지구시민사회의 맥락에서 여성주의 시민의 정체성을 개념적으로 파악하고자하였다. 이 때 ‘시민’으로서의 정체성(즉 시민성)이 어떤 존재론적 지위를 갖는가를 논의하기 위해 세 가지 문제의 지점들을 다루었다. 우선 시민성은 한 국가 내에서 개인이 부여받은 권리와 의무의 멤버십이 아니라, ‘시민되기’의 과정에서 중층적으로 구성해가는 성질이다. 둘째, 여성주의가 시민성 논의에 개입함으로써, 기존의 논의가 가부장제적이고 형식적이었음을 비판하면서 몸의 시민권을 포함하여 일상의 미시적 시민성을 실현하는 방식으로 시민성의 기준을 강화시킬 수 있다. 마지막으로 여성주의 시민성 안에 지구/지역적 차원에서 추구되는 평화, 생명, 다양성 등의 탈 위계적 가치들과 함께 연대할 수 있는 가치체계가 표명되어야 한다.

영문 초록

  This paper aims to answer the following question: “What is the ontological status of feminist citizenship in the context of a global civil society?” In order to explore the problem, I have set up three points, because dealing with its identity, its contents, and its value orientation is crucial to the citizenship debates. First, citizenship is not a certain membership which is assigned to individuals by one society according to the rights and the duties, but constructively-layered properties through the global-citizenization. Second, thefeminist approaches to the citizenship issue are promising to transform patriarchal frameworks into gender equal ones. From that standpoint, we are able to realize everyday civic life fully to the micro levels of the society including an individual’s citizenship and sexual self-determination rights. Third, citizenship in the feminist voices embodies solidarity to a certain extent with other value systems, for example, peace, ecology, cultural diversity, in order to weaken all kinds of hierarchical systems.
