영문 초록

This paper concerns Myonuri Sulwha in the light of feminism through some aspects: ultimate best end by self-adaptation, self-fulfillment by obtaining identity, humerous resistance, will of improving situation, realization of heartbreaking situation and recognizing the realities of life. Surviving the terribly hard surroundings, it was only thoughtful and wise women that could be the independent being establishing their own lives in the given situation and those are the main characters of Myonuri Sulwha. Daughters-in-law in Myonuri Sulwha fulfilled themselves with independent consciousness. Even the men-centered culture couldn't overrule their free will and they showed themselves as independent human being realizing themselves through self-consciousness. That is, they solved all the problems wisely and led their husbands and mothers-in-law with a positive attitude if necessary. Sometimes They handled hard situation with laughter and pretended follies. Those attitudes are not just simple adaptation to circumstance or helpless surrender, but wise deportment and plain resistance. When that kind of resistance couldn't solve the hardship of reality, a decisive measure was needed and the positive reaction to the hard situation was shown in Myonuri Sulwha as recognizing heartbreaking realities in life and leaving for a totally new life. Myonuri Sulwha is giving a shape to those women trying to get their own happiness and rights as a human being under the tough men-centered hierachical culture.
