영문 초록

This paper aims to explain tre opposition structure of tre English prepositions in and out which are regarded as opposites. First I list the properties of opposition; binarity, inherentness, and patency. Opposition is divided into types of binary opposites, antonyms, and reverses. Two prepositions in and out are usually thought of opposites in their basic meanings. However, Only a few meanings of in and out are found to have opposition. We can find many data in which tre meanings of in and out are thought to have synonymy. Still, in itself have some meanings which are thought to have opposition with one another, and out has such opposite meanings, too. In addition, in and out have their own special meanings which do not show opposition with each other.
