영문 초록

In accordance with the provisions of UNCLOS article 76, a commission on the limits of the continental shelf beyond 200 nautical miles had been established at 1997. Decisions regarding the date of the ten-year for making submissions to the Commission was made by the Secretary-General during its 11th cession at 2001. The ten-year time period referred to in article 4 of Annex Ⅱ to UNCLOS shall be taken to have connected on 13 May 1999. Submissions of the Limits of the Continental Shelf shall conform to the requirements of Scientific and Technical Guidelines established by the Commission. In case there is a dispute in delimitation of the continental shelf between opposite or adjacent States or in other cases of unsolved land or maritime disputes, submissions may be made and shall be considered in accordance with Annex Ⅰ to rules of procedure of the Commission on the Limits of the Continental Shelf. We should prepare to the submission of the Limits of the Continental Shelf, and make a consistent scientific research on Korea's continental shelf.
