국문 초록

Bruner는 최근 지식구조론 이후 문화심리적 관점에서 교육에 대한 새로운 관점을 제시하였다. 그는 인간의 인지현상을 탐구하기 위해 사고양식을 패러다임 사고와 내러티브 사고로 구분하였다. 패러다임 사고는 이론적이고, 형식 논리적이며, 추상적이고 일반적인 진술로 구성된 과학적 사고이다. 반면에 내러티브 사고는 사람들 간의 관계맥락과 교류 상태, 행위의 의도 등 구체적이고 상황 특수적인 사고이다. 이러한 내러티브 사고를 교육에 적극 활용함으로써 상상력의 증진, 자아 정체감 확립, 상호작용적 학습공동체 구성에 도움을 줄 수 있다. 정보기술과 테크놀러지의 발달이 가속화되고 있는 현대사회에서 개인들이 정체감을 잃지 않고, 자신과 타인의 경험과 세계를 올바로 이해하기 위해서는 내러티브 접근이 필요하다. 인간의 마음과 의미, 의도성을 중심으로 하는 내러티브 사고양식은 교육에 있어 새로운 대안이 될 수 있다.

영문 초록

This study dealt with the mode of narrative thought introduced by Bruner(1986) based on the perspective of cultural psychology. Bruner has identified two modes of thoughts : (1) the paradigmatic thoughts (2) the narrative thoughts. He stated that culture shapes mind, that it provides us with the toolkits by which we construct not only our worlds but our very conceptions of ourselves and our powers(Bruner, 1986). That is, students must construct meaning rather than memorize information. The notion of narrative is used as a synonym for a story. A story is the most meaningful text for making sense of chaotic world. Narrative is the study of how people are making sense of experiences by continuous telling and retelling them. People should know about how to create narrative sensibility. Three implications can be drawn from this paper as follows. The first holds that our schools should improve learner's narrative sensibility. The second holds that narrative sensibility recognizes learner's self-identification. And the third holds that interactive pedagogy should be emphasized in the classroom teaching. In the era of information and technology, the mode of narrative thought will be a new paradigm in education.
