국문 초록

본 연구에서는 지역평생교육의 실태를 파악하고 국가균형발전을 위한 평생교육의 발전방안을 모색하기 위하여, 상대적으로 평생교육의 소외지역인 지방도시의 평생교육 실태를 천안지역 성인 학습자 특성 연구를 통해 규명 해 보고자 하였다‘ 본 연구의 결과를 정 리 하면 다음과 같다. 첫 째, 지역 성인학습자는 평생교육 참여 변에서 이중의 불균형구조를 형성하고 있었다. 불균형 요소로는 거주지역, 생, 연령, 수입, 학력, 직장, 평생교육 참가경험 등을 들 수 있다 둘째, 지역 성인학습자는 실용적인 교육과정에 참가하기를 가장 희망하였고 실질적으로 직업교육참가자 비율이 가 장 높았다 셋째, 지역 성인학습자는 교육 7l 관으로 학원을 가장 많이 이용하였고, 다음으로 직장 대학 부설 평생교육원, 문화센터 등이었다. 공공가판인 도서관의 참가비율은 낮았다 넷째, 지역 성인학습자는 기관이나 강사의 유명도보다 교육내용, 상담/정보제공, 교육시간, 교육시설 등 교육 서비스에 더 판심이 많았다. 다섯째 중소도시 성인학습자의 평생교육에 대한 요구는 대체로 집단 및 생애단계별 성인학습자의 일반적 특성을 잘 나타내고 있었다.

영문 초록

This paper purports to grasp the actual condition of lifelong education that is put in operation in imbalance among regions and also to understand the future direction of lifelong education for balanced development of the nation. For this, it has looked into the actual condition of lifelong education in small and middle sized cities that are relatively out of favor with it through investigation of the characteristics of adult learners. The research results are as follows: First, the learners of lifelong education in small and middle sized cities were different from those living in large cities in terms of participation in lifelong education. Furthermore, even though they live in the same area, they showed difference according to their financial situations. They showed some difference by gender, age, income, academic career, job, and experience/no experience of lifelong education. Secondly, the learners living in small and middle sized cities highly tended to take a practical or vocational training course, which was shown in their demand, in the curriculum they have taken and they want to take, and in their demand on certificates or the credit bank system Thirdly, the adult learners living in small and middle sized cities used private institutes requiring high costs most, which is followed by work place, institute of lifelong education attached to college, and cultural center (art center). Their use of a library (public organization) was lowest. Fourth, the adult learners living in small and middle sized cities were more interested in educational services like curriculum, consulting, information supply, hours of education, facilities, etc. than reputation of an institute or lecturers. Fifth, the adult learners of lifelong education have showed different interest by group.
