영문 초록

Power has been described as the last dirty word in the world(Crozier 1979). People who have it deny it, people who want it try not to apear to be seeking it, and those who are good at getting it are secretive about how they got it. But power is a natural process in any group or organization. Most studies of power in organizations have focused on hierarchical power and level of power using questionnaires, the power of supervisors over subordi-nates, or bosses over employees. The vertical, hierarchical dimension of power is important in understanding social life, but it is not the only dimension of power. As Perrow(1970) wrote, "It is my impression that for all the discussion and research regarding power in organizations, the preoccupation with interpersonal power has led us to neglect one of the most obvious aspects of this subject: in complex organizations, tasks are divided up between a few major departments or subunits, and all of these subunits are not likely to equally powerful." The purpose of this paper is to develop a method to measure the amount of power in each formal groups using questionnaires and interview.
