국문 초록

본 연구는 H대학에서 학사경고를 받은 대학생들의 특성과 이들이 필요로 하는 지원사항을 평가하고 분석하기 위해 수행되었다. 연구의 첫 번째 단계에서는 H대학의 학사관리 시스템과 행정 부서의 데이터를 활용하여 학사경고 학생들의 다양한 특성을 분석하였다. 이 과정에서 학생들의 기본 정보, 입학 관련 사항, 대학 생활 요소, 학문적 특성 그리고 대학 내 행동 데이터를 종합적으로 고려하였다. 이러한 분석을 통해 학사경고의 원인을 신입생 적응기, 학업 능력, 전공 적응도, COVID-19의 영향 등으로 구분할 수 있었다. 두 번째 단계에서는 H대학 재학생 중 학사경고를 경험한 354명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 설문조사는 학사경고의 원인과 관련된 다양한 요인을 파악하기 위해 설계되었으며, 그 결과 학습 의지 부족, 대학 생활에 대한 목표 의식 결여, 우울감, 불안감 등이 주요 요인으로 나타났다. 또한, 학사경고를 2회 이상 경험한 18명의 학생을 대상으로 심층 인터뷰를 진행하여 보다 심도 있는 질적 데이터를 수집하였다. 이들 인터뷰 결과, 학사경고 경험이 자존감에 미치는 영향, 친구 및 가족의 지원 부족, 그리고 대학의 지원 시스템에 대한 불만 등이 주요한 문제로 드러났다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로, 시사점과 향후 연구 방향에 대한 제안이 논의되었다.

영문 초록

This study was conducted to evaluate and analyze the characteristics of university students at H University who have received academic warnings, as well as the support they require. In the first phase of the research, data from H University's academic management system and administrative departments were utilized to analyze the diverse characteristics of students under academic warning. This analysis comprehensively considered students' basic information, admission-related factors, aspects of university life, academic characteristics, and behavioral data within the university. The findings categorized the causes of academic warnings into several factors, including the adjustment period for freshmen, academic ability, major adaptability, and the impact of COVID-19. In the second phase, a survey was conducted with 354 students who had experienced academic warnings. The survey was designed to identify various factors related to the causes of academic warnings. The results indicated that a lack of motivation for learning, a lack of goal orientation regarding university life, feelings of depression, and anxiety were significant contributing factors. Additionally, in-depth interviews were conducted with 18 students who had experienced academic warnings more than twice, allowing for the collection of richer qualitative data. The interview results revealed key issues such as the impact of academic warnings on self-esteem, insufficient support from friends and family, and dissatisfaction with the university's support systems. Based on these findings, implications and suggestions for future research directions were discussed.
