마을공동체 모임의 사회적 경제 조직 전환에 대한 경험연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 마을공동체의 지속가능성과 관련하여 사회적 경제조직으로의 전환에 대한 경험을 살펴보았다. 본 연구의 대상자는 사회적 경제조직으로의 전환을 통해 경제적 자립을 확보하여 지속가능한 활동을 하고자 하는 마을공동체이다. 구체적으로 사회적 경제조직으로의 전환을 도모하고 있는 마을공동체, 마을기업으로의 전환을 통해 사업을 수행하고 있는 공동체, 사회적 협동조합으로의 전환을 통해 사업을 수행하고 있는 공동체, 3곳의 사례이다. 본 연구의 분석대상은 공동체이며, 자료의 분석은 질적 사례연구에서 활용하는 사례 내 분석과 사례 간 분석을 실시하였다. 사례 내 분석에서는 그 사례가 갖는 독특한 경험을 개별사례의 정황과 맥락에 따라 분석하였다. 사례 간 분석에서는 개별사례에서 발견된 주요한 의미 중 공통점을 추출하여 120개의 의미 단위를 도출하였다. 120개의 의미단위는 다시 구조적으로 통합되어, 24개의 하위구성요소와 최종적으로는 5개의 상위구성요소가 도출되었다. 5개의 상위구성요소를 살펴보면, ‘첫걸음’, ‘도움닫기’, ‘날아오르기’, ‘숨고르기’, ‘대표의 역할과 역량’이다. 즉, ‘마을공동체 활동 첫걸음’, ‘사회적경제조직으로 도움닫기’, ‘사회적경제조직으로 날아오르기’, ‘숨고르기(전환 과정 회상)’, ‘대표의 역할 및 역량’이다. 연구결과, 마을공동체와 사회적경제조직은 구성원 한 명 한 명 모두가 대표자의 역할과 역량을 가지고 활동을 하는 것으로 이해되고 있다. 그럼에도 대표의 역할과 역량은 내부 구성원과 외부 조직들과의 상생과 협력에서 무게의 중심이 된다. 이와 같은 대표의 역할과 역량을 조명해 보는 것은 사회적경제조직으로의 전환 및 전환 이후의 지속가능성 면에서도 필요한 부분이라고 사료된다. 이에 더하여 대표의 역할과 역량에 대한 내용은 조직 구성원 모두에게 요구되는 것으로 이해할 필요가 있다. 본 연구결과는 마을공동체 사업의 지속가능성을 고민하고 있는 마을공동체, 사회경제적 조직으로의 전환을 모색하고 있는 공동체에 도움이 되리라고 사료된다. 나아가 행정기관 또는 마을공동체지원센터 등의 지원조직에서 마을공동체의 지속가능성을 위한 지원정책수립에 도움이 되리라고 사료된다.

영문 초록

This study examined the experience of transitioning to a social economic organization in relation to the sustainability of village communities. The subject of this study is a village community that seeks to engage in sustainable activities by securing economic independence through conversion to a social economic organization. Specifically, there are three cases: a village community that is seeking to transform into a social economic organization, a community that is carrying out business through transformation into a village enterprise, and a community that is carrying out business through transformation into a social cooperative. The target of analysis in this study was the community, and the data was analyzed using within-case analysis and cross-case analysis used in qualitative case studies. In the within-case analysis, the unique experience of the case was analyzed according to the circumstances and context of the individual case. In the cross-case analysis, 120 meaning units were derived by extracting commonalities among the major meanings found in individual cases. The 120 semantic units were structurally integrated again, resulting in 24 lower-level components and ultimately 5 upper-level components. Looking at the five higher-level components, they are ‘first step’, ‘jump’, ‘flying’, ‘taking a breath’, and ‘representative role and capabilities’. In other words, ‘The first step in village community activities’, ‘Jumping as a social economic organization’, ‘Soaring as a social economic organization’, ‘Taking a breath (recalling the transition process)’, and ‘The role and capabilities of the representative’. It is believed that the results of this study will be helpful to village communities that are concerned about the sustainability of village community projects and to communities that are seeking to transform into socioeconomic organizations. Furthermore, it is believed that it will be helpful in establishing support policies for the sustainability of village communities in support organizations such as administrative agencies or village community support centers.
