『주역 』원형이정의 인문화과정과 그 철학적 함의

국문 초록

본고는 『周易』의 대표적 괘사라고 할 수 있는 ‘元亨利貞’에 대해 탈신비를 통한 인문의 관점에서 접근하여 원형이정의 인문화과정을 확인함으로써,『周易』원형이정의 인문사유가 현대사회에는 어떠한 철학적 함의를 갖는지에 대해 논의를 전개하였다. 본격적으로 원형이정의 인문화과정을 확인함에 앞서 일반적으로 광범위하게 사용되고 있는 ‘인문’의 의미를 정의하는 작업이 선행되어야 한다고 판단하였고, 신비와 반대되는 인문의 인식과 『周易』내에서 등장하는 인문의 내용을 검토함으로써 본고에서 밝히고자 하는 인문의 사유체계에 대해 전제하였다. 원형이정은 괘사임과 동시에 천지자연의 법칙 속에서 살아가는 인간이 스스로 믿고 살아갈 단서로 이해한 개념이라고도 할 수 있다. 이에 『易經』에서의 원형이정과 『易傳』에서 원형이정의 함의를 파악하는 작업을 통해 점괘로서의 원형이정이 인간 德性의 개념으로 변천하게 되는 그 인문화과정을 규명하였다. 이상의 고찰을 통해 원형이정이 사덕이 되기에 이른 것은 우연이 아니라 점에 대한 인간의 철학적 고민 과정에서 변모해 나간 것이며, 하늘을 향해 끊임없이 제기되던 질문들에 대한 문제해결은 결국 인간 스스로인 ‘나’로 귀결됨을 확인하였다. 이를 바탕으로 『周易 』원형이정 인문정신이 데이터시대로 대변되는 현대에 어떠한 철학적 함의를 갖는지에 대해 시험적으로 논의하였다.

영문 초록

This paper approaches the representative hexagram of the 『Zhouyi』, 'Yuan Heng Li Zhen', from a humanistic perspective through the process of demystification. By examining the humanization process of 'Yuan Heng Li Zhen', the study explores the philosophical implications that the humanistic thinking of the 『Zhouyi』 's 'Yuan Heng Li Zhen' holds for modern society. Before delving into the humanization process of 'Yuan Heng Li Zhen', the paper defines the generally broad term 'humanities'. This includes examining the perception of the humanities as opposed to mysticism and the elements of the humanities present in the 『Zhouyi』 to establish the framework of humanistic thought that the paper aims to elucidate. 'Yuan Heng Li Zhen' can be understood as a hexagram and as a concept that humans living according to the laws of heaven and earth use as a clue to live by. The paper investigates the implications of 'Yuan Heng Li Zhen' in both the 『Yijing』 and the 『Yi Zhuan』, identifying the process by which 'Yuan Heng Li Zhen' as a hexagram evolved into a concept of human virtue. Through this examination, it becomes clear that the transformation of 'Yuan Heng Li Zhen' into the Four Virtues was not coincidental but rather a result of philosophical contemplation on divination by humans. The resolution of the questions continuously posed towards heaven ultimately led to the conclusion that the answer lies within the human self. Based on this, the paper tentatively discusses the philosophical implications of the humanistic spirit of 'Yuan Heng Li Zhen' in the 『Zhouyi』 for the modern era characterized by data.
