국문 초록

본 연구는 어머니의 양육스트레스와 유아의 정서조절능력의 관계에서 자녀의 부정적 정서표현에 대한 어머니 반응의 매개효과를 밝히고자 하였다. 이를 위해 수도권 소재 어린이집에 재원 중인 만 3~5세 유아의 어머니 244명을 대상으로, 설문지를 통해 어머니의 양육스트레스, 자녀의 부정적 정서표현에 대한 어머니 반응, 유아의 정서조절능력을 측정하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 26.0을 활용하여 기술통계, 신뢰도분석, 상관분석을 실시하였으며, PROCESS macro(model 4)와 Bootstrap을 활용하여 매개효과의 통계적인 유의성을 검증하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 어머니의 문제·정서초점 반응, 표현격려반응, 처벌·최소화 반응은 부분 매개효과가 있는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 반면, 고통감 반응은 매개효과가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 아동상담 현장에서 유아의 정서표현에 대한 부모의 반응 방식을 파악하여, 아동 및 부모 상담의 전략을 구체적으로 세우고 개입하는 데 기초자료를 제공하였다는 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to analyze the mediating effect of maternal coping with children's negative emotions on the relationship between maternal parenting stress and emotion regulation of young children. The survey was conducted on 244 mothers of young children aged 3 to 5 in daycare centers. Participants answered questionnaires that measured parenting stress, coping with children's negative emotions, and emotion regulation of their children. The collected data was analyzed by descriptive statistics and correlation analysis using SPSS 26.0. Furthermore, the mediating effect was analyzed by employing the PROCESS macro for SPSS version 3.5 (Model 4), and then the statistical significance of the meditating effect was examined by bootstrapping. The results are as follows. Problem·emotion-focused responses, expressive encouragement, and punishment-minimization responses had partial mediating effects. Conversely, distress reactions had no mediating effect. This research contributes significantly to a better understanding of the mechanism linking maternal parenting stress to emotion regulation of young children and especially emphasizes the importance of maternal coping with children's negative emotions for emotion regulation. The study has practical implications for the development of targeted counseling strategies for both young children and their parents.
