장애아통합어린이집 장애아 전담교사의 실외놀이지원에서의 어려움과 요구

국문 초록

본 연구는 유아·놀이중심 교육과정이 시행된 이후에 장애아통합어린이집 장애아 전담교사가 장애유아의 실외놀이를 지원하는 데 겪는 어려움과 지원요구를 알아보기 위하여 실시하였다. 장애아통합어린이집의 장애아 전담교사 7명을 연구참여자로 선정하여 반구조화된 질문지를 활용한 개별면담을 2023년에 실시하였다. 면담자료를 질적 연구방법으로 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 실외놀이에서 장애유아 놀이지원에서의 어려움에 대해 ‘장애와 지체된 발달로 인한 제한된 놀이행동’, ‘안전을 위협하는 행동’, ‘주변 실외놀이 공간으로의 이동’으로 범주화하였다. 장애유아의 놀이 비참여와 단순한 놀이행동에 대해 장애아 전담교사가 놀이를 발달시키고 확장하기 위한 지원을 고심하고 실외놀이 시 안전 유지를 걱정하며 기관 내 실외놀이 시설의 부족으로 주변 지역 시설로 이동하면서 생기는 여러 어려움이 있음을 보고하였다. 둘째, 장애아 전담교사가 장애유아를 실외놀이지원하는 데 있어서의 지원요구에 대해서는 ‘사례 중심 및 교사 중심의 놀이지원 교육’, ‘인력 보강 및 보조기구 공급’, ‘신체활동을 위한 대체공간’으로 범주화하여 장애아 전담교사가 필요로하는 지원을 구체적으로 제시하였다. 본 연구는 장애아통합어린이집 장애아 전담교사가 장애유아의 실외놀이를 지원하면서 겪는 어려움과 지원요구를 파악하고 지원방안을 강구하는데 필요한 기초 자료 제공에 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

The present study aims to explore the difficulties and support needs of teachers for young children with disabilities in inclusive daycare centers who support the play of children with disabilities in outdoor play. In-depth interviews were conducted with seven teachers for young children with disabilities in such centers during 2023 and the interview contents were analyzed using a qualitative research method. The difficulties in supporting young children with disabilities in outdoor play were categorized as “limited play behavior due to disability and developmental delays,” “safety-threatening behavior,” and “going back and forth to a nearby outdoor play spot.” For young children with disabilities’ non-participation in play and simple play behaviors, teachers reported difficulties in supporting them to develop and expand their play, concerns about maintaining safety during outdoor play, and difficulties in going back and forth to nearby play spots due to the lack of outdoor play facilities at the daycare center. The support needs of such teachers were categorized as “case-based and teacher-centered play support education,” “staff reinforcement and the supply of aids,” and “alternative spaces for physical activity.” This study is meaningful in providing basic data necessary to identify the difficulties and support needs of teachers for young children with disabilities in inclusive daycare centers in outdoor play and to devise support plans.
