달걀 돌봄 성찰일기 쓰기 활동을 통한 예비보육교사의 돌봄 경험 의미 탐색

국문 초록

본 연구는 달걀 돌봄과 성찰일기 쓰기 활동을 통한 예비보육교사의 돌봄 경험 의미를 탐색한 것이다. 구체적으로 한 학기 동안 ‘보육교사론’ 수업을 통해 예비보육교사들은 보육교사의 역할과 책무성, 교직윤리 등에 대해 배웠고 달걀 돌봄, 성찰일기 쓰기 등 다양한 활동을 통해 자기이해, 스트레스 관리법, 협력 및 돌봄 등 보육교사의 업무를 수행하는 데 있어 요구되는 다양한 역량을 키우기 위한 경험을 하였다. 이 중에서 본 연구에서는 예비보육교사들이 돌봄을 경험해 보는 것을 목적으로 수행된 달걀을 돌보고 이를 바탕으로 작성한 성찰일기를 해석하였다. 연구결과로 먼저 ‘예비보육교사의 돌봄 실천 경험’은 달걀이 안전하게 머무를 수 있는 집 만들어 주기, 자신만의 의미를 담아 달걀의 이름을 짓고 불러주기, 자신의 일상을 달걀과 함께하며 관계 만들기 등으로 나타났다. 다음으로 ‘예비보육교사의 돌봄 실천 경험의 의미’는 타자에 대해 진심어린 배려와 책임감 맛보기, 돌봄 대상의 관점을 고려하는 귀 기울기 체현하기, 스스로를 돌아보며 자기 이해로 확장되는 사고의 기회 경험하기로 나타났다. 본 연구는 교사양성과정에서 예비교사들이 구체적·실천적 맥락에서 경험을 통해 돌봄에 관해 사유할 수 있도록 달걀 돌봄과 성찰일기 쓰기 활동을 제안했다는 점에서 의미가 있다. 그리고 달걀 돌봄과 성찰일기 쓰기 활동이 얽혀 예비보육교사들이 돌봄에 대한 의미를 성찰하는 과정에서 결국 자신에 대해 돌아보며 성장할 수 있는 기회로 확장될 수 있는 가능성을 보여주었다는 데 의의가 있다. 본 연구가 예비보육교사의 실제 경험이 반성적 사고의 과정을 거침으로써 보다 확고하게 체화되어 감을 보여주었다는 점에서, 앞으로의 교사양성과정에서 예비교사들이 돌봄의 전문성을 키워나갈 수 있도록 돌봄 상황들과의 마주침 속에서 돌봄윤리를 실천해 볼 수 있는 경험의 기회 제공이 필요함을 제안하였다.

영문 초록

This study explored the meaning of caring experiences through egg caring and reflective journal writing activities for pre-service childcare teachers. Specifically, in a one semester ‘childcare teacher theory’ class, pre-service childcare teachers learned about the roles, accountability, professional ethics of childcare teachers and gained experience in various competencies required to perform their associated tasks such as self-understanding, stress management, cooperation and caring through various activities such as egg caring and reflective journal writing activities. This study interpreted reflective journals written by pre-service childcare teachers based on caring for eggs for the purpose of experiencing caring. Thise study found that, ‘the caring practice experience of pre-service childcare teachers’ included making a house where the eggs can stay safely, naming and calling the eggs with their own meaning, and making relationships by spending their daily lives with the eggs. Subsequently, ‘the meaning of the pre-service childcare teachers caring practice experience’ was gaining sincere consideration and responsibility for others, embodying listening that considers the perspective of the object of caring, and experiencing opportunities for thinking that expands to self-understanding. This study suggests egg caring and reflective journal writing activities so that pre-service teachers can think about caring in a specific and practical context through experiences during their education, as egg caring and reflective journal writing activities show the possibility of increased opportunities to grow by looking back on themselves in the process of reflecting on the meaning of caring. This study thus showed that the actual experiences of pre-service childcare teachers could be more firmly embodied through a process of reflective thinking, suggesting that it is necessary to provide opportunities for pre-service teachers to practice the ethics of caring in encounters with situations that can develop their professionalism in pre-service teacher education.
