마을과 연계한 초등학교 교육과정 운영에 있어 구성원의 의사결정 과정 분석: 홍성거북이마을 사례를 중심으로

국문 초록

연구목적: 본 연구는 지역의 초등학교와 마을이 공동으로 운영하는 학교-마을 연계 교육과정에 대한 참여자의 의사결정 과정을 알아보는 데 목적이 있다. 연구방법: 본 연구는 질적 사례 연구로서 학교-마을 연계 교육과정의 운영을 위한 구성원들의 의사결정에 영향을 준 요인을 분석하고자, 참여관찰, 현장 자료 수집, 그리고 초등학교 교사와 거북이마을학교의 강사 및 관리자에 대한 심층 면담을 실행하였다. 연구결과: 첫째, 연계 교육과정 운영에는 COVID-19 팬데믹, 인력 부족, 재정적 지원문제 등 다양한 교육적 환경이 구성원의 의사결정에 영향을 미쳤다. 둘째, 마을강사들의 교수 경험이나 참여 동기의 차이가 교육과정 설계뿐 아니라 수업 진행을 위한 의사결정에 영향요인으로 작용하였다. 셋째, 학교-마을 연계 교육과정의 지속가능성을 위해서는 참여자들 간 공동 목표 설정과 결속력의 확립이 필수적이다. 이를 위해서 학교와 마을학교 관리자의 관심과 리더십, 참여자들 간의 친밀감 형성, 그리고 학생들의 긍정적 변화와 성취감에 대한 강사들의 체험이 중요하다. 넷째, 교육과정 의사결정에 있어서 참여자들은 상이한(긍정적, 부정적, 그리고 협상적) 자기 환류 방식을 지니고 있었지만, 이는 각자의 경험이나 성과 혹은 만족 여부에 따라 충분히 변화될 수 있었다. 논의 및 결론: 원활한 교육과정 운영을 위해서는 학교-마을연계 교육과정의 목적에 대한 공감대, 구성원들 간의 역할 존중, 그리고, 협의의 과정에서 긍정적 피드백을 효율적으로 활용할 필요가 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to investigate the decision-making process of participants, regarding the school-village linked curriculum jointly operated by local elementary schools and village. Method: As a qualitative case study, this study adapted participant observation, collection and analysis of village school related materials, and in-depth interviews with the participants which consist of the elementary school teachers located in the village and the instructors and administrators of Turtle Village School. Results: First, various environmental factors, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, manpower shortage, and financial support issues, influenced the decision-making of participants. Second, differences in the teaching experience and participation motivation of village instructors became an important factor in decision-making not only in curriculum design but also in class progress. Third, for the sustainability of the school-village linked curriculum, it is essential to establish common goals and solidarity among participants. To achieve this, it is necessary to establish interest and leadership of school and village school administrators and to build rapport between participants. Fourth, the research participants were self-reflecting in different (positive, negative, and negotiation) ways in curriculum decision-making; nonetheless, this style of self-reflection can be changable depending on their experience, performance, and satisfaction. Conclusion: In order to operate the curriculum smoothly, it is necessary to have a consensus on the purpose or characteristics of the curriculum linked to the village, respect for roles among members, and efficiently utilize positive feedback during the consultation process.
