제조사 주문 할당 정책과 공급사 간 지식공유에 관한 연구

국문 초록

기존 연구 및 일본 자동차 업계의 관행을 통해 공급사 간 지식공유의 효과성은 널리 알려진 바 있지만, 공급사슬 내 잠재적 경쟁자, 즉 공급자들의 자발적 지식 자원 공유는 쉽지 않은 일이다. 따라서 공급사 간 지식공유를 촉진하고 바람직한 결과 도출하려면 제조사의 적극적 노력이 필요하다. 이에 본 연구에서는 공급사 간 지식공유를 유도하기 위한 제조사의 수단으로 주문 할당 정책에 주목한다. 기존 문헌에서는 지식공유의 상호 호혜성을 가정하고 있지만, 본 연구에서는 기회주의적 행동의 발생 가능성을 고려한다. 분석을 위해 제조사 주도의 삼자 공급사슬 모형을 상정하고, 게임이론에 기초한 수리적 분석법을 활용하여 부분게임 완전균형을 도출하였다(subgame perfect equilibrium). 분석 결과는 주문량 분배에 대한 제조사의 의사결정에 따라 공급사 간 지식공유 여부 및 그 형태가 달라질 수 있다는 것으로 요약할 수 있다. 구체적으로, 공급사 간 지식공유는 관련된 기초 투자 및 원치 않은 지식 자원 유출로 인한 잠재적 위험 등 부담이 감당 가능한 수준일 때에만 유도할 수 있다. 또한, 부담 수준이 중간 정도일 경우, 기회주의적 태도를 보이는 공급사가 나타날 수 있으며, 지식공유에 대한 시혜적 관계가 발생한다. 부담 수준이 더 낮아지면, 쌍무적(bilateral) 관계가 구축되어 모든 공급사가 지식공유를 통한 상호 발전을 도모할 수 있게 된다. 마지막으로 공급사 간 지식공유의 긍정적 효과 증대는 더 높은 수준의 공급사 간 지식공유를 유도하는데 긍정적으로 작용한다.

영문 초록

Although the effectiveness of supplier-supplier knowledge sharing is widely known through the evidence from previous research and Japanese automotive industry practice, it is inherently challenging for potential competitors, i.e., the suppliers, within the supply chain to share knowledge resources voluntarily. Hence, it requires proactive efforts from the manufacturer to facilitate knowledge sharing between suppliers and bring the desirable results to fruition. This study considers the order allocation policy design as the manufacturer's instrument for inducing knowledge sharing between suppliers. Contrary to the previous research, which assumes the mutual reciprocity of supplier-supplier knowledge sharing, this present study contemplates the potential emergence of opportunistic behaviors. We set a model of a buyer-led triadic supply chain and derive the subgame perfect equilibrium by using the mathematical model analysis based on the game theory. The results show that the manufacturer's order allocation policy can affect whether knowledge sharing between suppliers occurs and, if so, the form it takes. Specifically, supplier-supplier knowledge sharing can be induced when the associated level of burden, such as initial investment or potential risk of unintended knowledge leakage, is affordable. Under the medium level of burden, unilateral knowledge provision may occur, and an opportunistic supplier who does not contribute to the communal pool of knowledge resources can be a beneficiary of such a situation. When the burden is at a low level, it is likely that both suppliers readily participate in knowledge sharing and seek mutual capability improvement. Finally, an increment in the effectiveness positively affects the facilitation of knowledge sharing between suppliers.
