국문 초록

본 연구는 대학기관연구의 개념과 의미가 불분명한 것에 대한 문제의식에 기초하고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 대학기관연구와 관련한 선행연구를 바탕으로 ‘대학기관연구는 무엇인가?’에 대해 개념적 체계를 도출해 내는 방식으로 그 의미를 명확하게 해 보고자 하였다.연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 대학기관연구의 역사적 흐름, 정체성과 본질, 역할 및 기능에 대해 면밀히 탐색해 보았으며, 대학기관연구는 개념적으로 “대학조직의 비전 및 목표를 달성하기 위하여 지속적으로 이루어지는 대학조직의 지성화(intellectualization)를 위한 활동의 총체”로 설명될 수 있음을 밝혔다. 이에 기반하여, 연구의 결론으로서 본질적 차원(목적 및 기반)-정체성 차원(개념 및 내용)-방법적 차원(방식)-기능적 차원(역할)으로 이어지는 대학기관연구의 개념적 체계를 제시하였다. 본 연구의 결론을 토대로 한 학술적·정책적 제언은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 대학기관연구에 관한 학술적 연구가 활성화될 필요가 있다. 둘째, 대학기관연구 활성화를 위한 정책적 지원이 필요하다.

영문 초록

This study is based on the problem consciousness of the unclear concept and meaning of university institution research. Therefore, this study attempted to clarify its meaning by deriving a conceptual system for 'What is university institution research?' based on prior research related to university institution research. The results of the study are as follows. The historical flow, identity, nature, role, and function of university institution research were closely explored, and university institution research can be explained conceptually as 'the totality of activities for the intellectualization of university organizations that continue to take place to achieve their vision and goals'. Based on this, a conceptual system of university institution research that leads to the essential dimension (purpose and foundation), the identity dimension (concept and content), the method dimension (method), and the functional dimension (role) was presented as the conclusion of the study. The academic and policy suggestions based on the conclusions of this study are as follows. First, academic research on university institutional research needs to be activated. Second, policy support is needed to revitalize university institution research.
