소설 『완득이』를 통해 본 한국사회의 다문화 판타지 고찰: 지젝의 이데올로기론을 중심으로

국문 초록

본 연구는 급속한 다문화사회로 진행되고 있는 한국사회의 다문화현상을 슬라보예 지젝(Slavoj Zizek)의 이데올로기 이론으로 살펴본 질적 연구이다. 이를 위해 이데올로기적 판타지로 작동되는 한국사회에서의 다문화주의를 살펴보고자 소설『완득이』를 텍스트 분석하였다. 소설『완득이』텍스트 분석을 통한 ‘다문화판타지’ 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 한국사회는 한국인의 피부 색깔을 기준으로 상대적으로 더 짙으면 막연한 깔봄과 반감을, 상대적으로 흰 피부색의 인종에게는 호의를 가지는 피부 색깔에 따른 인종의 판타지를 가지고 있다. 둘째, 결혼이주여성이 한국사회 내에서 아내로서, 엄마로서, 며느리로서, 다른 가족 구성원으로 들어왔을 때는 다른 인종에 대한 다문화판타지와는 별개로 한국의 전통적 젠더 역할에 대한 이중적 다문화판타지를 가진다. 셋째, 다문화가족지원법의 명문규정에도 불구하고 한국사회는 ‘다문화가정’이라 함은 한국의 결혼시장에서 경쟁력을 갖추지 못한 한국남자들과 우리나라보다 경제적으로 발달하지 않은 나라의 가난한 지역 여성들과의 결합 형태를 다문화가족으로 치부하는 다문화가정 형태에 대한 다문화판타지를 가지고 있다. 넷째, 한국사회는 다문화가정 아동들이 소극적인 행동방식으로, 낮은 학업 성적과 정체성의 혼란을 겪을 것이라는 판타지를 가지고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 그럼에도 불구하고, 그들이 국가와 사회의 도움으로 바르게 잘 성장해서 한국사회의 인구감소를 막는 한국의 또 다른 계층으로 성장해 나갈 것이라는 판타지 또한 가지고 있는 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

This study is the qualitative research investigated by Slavoj Zizek’s ideology theory for multicultural phenomenon of Korean society which changes into a multicultural society. This study analyzes the text novel『Wandeuky』to an analyze the multiculturalism working as a fantasy in the point of Zizek’s. The result of analysis of ‘Multicultural fantasy’ through text analysis in the novel『Wandeuky』are as following: First, Korean people look down on and have antipathy for people who have relatively dark or black skin according to the skin color. Korean people face people friendly who have relatively white skin. Secondly, when marriage migrant women become a family member as a wife, mother, and other roles, there is a duplex recognition of multicultural fantasy for marriage migrant women who complies with traditional gender as a daughter in law, wife and mother etc, as distinct from multicultural fantasy for other races. Thirdly, despite of the written clause of Multicultural Families Support act, a ‘multicultural family’in Korea has a multicultural fantasy that the family is regarded as a combination with women from developing countries and Korean men who do not have economic power in the marriage market. Fourth, Korean society has a fantasy that children from multicultural families are confused about their identities and have lower grade due to the passive behaviour. But it is also shown that Korean society has a fantasy that the children will grow up to be the class who prevent population decrease with the help from government and society.
