초등교사의 다문화교육과정에 대한 관심수준과 필수 수행업무들 사이의 상관관계 분석

국문 초록

초등학교에 다양한 이주배경의 학생이 급격히 늘어나 초등교사의 다문화교육과정 운영이 긴요해지고 있다. 교사들이 운영에 착수하기 위해서는 무엇보다도 다문화교육과정에 대한 교사 스스로의 관심이 확보되어야 할 것이다. 본 연구에서는 초등교사의 다문화교육과정에 대한 관심수준과 교사들이 수행해야만 하는 필수적인 업무들 사이에 어떠한 상관이 있는지 조사하였다. 초등학교 교사 179명을 대상으로 2019년 7월부터 2020년 1월까지 설문조사를 진행하였다. 다문화교육과정에 대한 관심수준을 측정하기 위하여 관심기반 실행모형을 활용하였으며 빈도분석, 상관분석, 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구에서는 교사의 필수적인 수행 업무가 학생지도 업무, 부서업무, 전문성 신장이라고 보았다. 그리고 이들과 관련된 변인(현재 학급 내 이주배경 학생 수, 다문화교육 지도경력, 다문화교육 관련 업무경력, 다문화교육활동과 관련된 각종 주제의 연수 이수 횟수와 이수시간, 다문화교육과정에만 집중된 내용의 연수 이수 횟수와 이수시간)과 다문화교육과정 관심수준과의 상관관계를 조사하였다. 조사결과, 첫째, 교사의 관심수준과 이주배경 학생지도경력 간의 관계는 통계상으로 상관이 없는 것으로 드러났다. 둘째, 관심수준과 현재 학급 내의 이주배경 학생 수는 관심수준 2, 3, 4, 5, 6단계에서 통계적으로 유의미한 상관관계 및 효과성이 있는 것으로 조사되었다. 셋째, 다문화교육 관련 업무경력과 관심수준은 6단계에서만 상관관계 및 효과성이 있는 것으로 조사되었다. 넷째, 다문화교육활동과 관련된 각종 주제의 연수 이수 횟수나 이수 시간은 각각 관심수준과 상관이 없는 것으로 드러났다. 다섯째, 다문화교육과정에만 집중된 내용의 연수 이수 횟수는 관심수준 0, 1, 3단계에서 상관관계 및 효과성이 있었다. 여섯째, 다문화교육과정에만 집중된 내용의 연수 이수시간은 0, 3단계에서 상관관계 및 효과성이 있는 것으로 조사되었다. 본 연구는 교사의 필수적인 수행 업무와 초등교사 관심수준 사이의 상관관계 및 효과성 여부를 확인한 후, 다문화교육과정의 효과적인 정착을 위해서는 다문화교육과정에 특화된 내용의 연수를 증배해야 함을 밝혔다는 점에 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

This study investigated the correlations between the level of interests and essential work performance on multi-cultural curriculum of elementary school teachers. In this study, students discipline, administrative works and professional development were considered as the essential work performance of the teachers. A survey was conducted of 179 elementary school teachers from July 2019 to January 2020. Concern-based adoption model was used and frequency analysis, correlation analysis and regression analysis were conducted. As a result, first, the relationship between the level of concern of teachers and careers on teaching students with an immigration background was not statistically correlated. Second, the relationship between the level of concern and the number of students with an immigration background was statistically correlated(R .196, P-value .008). and it also has effectiveness in stage 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. Third, work experiences related to multi-cultural education and the level of concern was statistically correlated in stage 6(R .229, P-value .002) and has effectiveness in stage 6. Fourth, the number or time of completion of training with various subjects related to multi-cultural educational activities and the level of concern were not correlated. Fifth, the number of completion of training focused only on multi-cultural curriculum and the level of concern were statistically correlated(R .172, P-value .021) and it also has effectiveness in stage 0, 1, 3. Sixth, the time of completion of training focused only on multi-cultural curriculum and the level of concern were statistically correlated(R .165, P-value .027) and it also has effectiveness in stage 0, 3. The study revealed that for effective settlement of the multicultural curriculum, differentiated support is needed after identifying the characteristics of the elementary school teacher stages of concern.
