보육교사의 영아대상 놀이중심 보육과정 실행 경험 탐색

국문 초록

본 연구는 영아중심·놀이중심 보육과정 실행과정에서 보육교사들의 경험을 파악하여, 이를 효과적으로 실행하는 데 필요한 시사점을 도출하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 D지역의 교사 10명이 참여하였다. 연구에 참여한 보육교사들이 재직하는 어린이집 유형에 따라 5명씩 2개 그룹으로 나누어서 포커스 그룹인터뷰를 집단별로 각 2회씩 진행하였다. 각 회차별 포커스그룹 면담결과를 전사한 후, 주제별로 범주화하였다. 연구 결과를 살펴보면, 첫째, 보육교사들은 ‘영아중심의 경계와 모호성’, ‘교사와 부모 간 ‘놀이중심’에 대한 해석의 간극’, ‘늘어나는 놀이지원에 대한 고민’ 등을 경험하는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 영아중심·놀이중심 보육과정 실행의 길에서 만난 긍정적 신호로 보육교사들은 영아들이 주도적인 놀이에서 즐거움, 유쾌함, 배움으로 가치를 경험하는 것을 발견하였고, 이에 보육교사들은 놀이중심을 이해하고 스스로 변화하는 노력이 필요하다는 점을 알게 되었다. 이상의 결과를 토대로 본 연구는 영아중심· 놀이중심 보육과정의 실행을 위해서 현실적인 지침마련, 영아 대 교사 비율 감소, 다양한 교사교육 기회 제공 등의 필요성을 제안하였다.

영문 초록

This study was to identify the experiences of childcare teachers in the process of implementing a child-centered/ play-centered childcare curriculum and to derive implications necessary for effective implementation. 10 teachers in D region participated. They were divided into two groups of five teachers according to the type of child care center they worked in, and focus group interviews were conducted twice for each group. The results of each focus group interview were transcribed and then categorized according to themes. The results were as followed. First, childcare teachers experienced ‘the boundary and ambiguity of infant-centered’, ‘differences in interpretation between teachers and parents on play-centered’. And also, they experienced difficulty due to the increase of play support for infants. Second, childcare teachers found that infants experience joy, pleasure, and learning in self-directed play. Thus, childcare teachers found that they needed to change themselves to understand and practice the play-centered curriculum. Based on the results, the necessity of preparing realistic guidelines, reducing the ratio of infants per teacher, and providing various opportunities for teacher education was discussed.
