베이비붐 세대의 퇴직 후 삶의 경험에 관한 질적 메타분석

국문 초록

최근 우리나라 1차 베이비붐 세대는 주된 일자리에서 퇴직하게 되었고, 그들의 대다수가 노인층에 속하기 시작하였다. 이에 본 연구는 베이비붐 세대의 퇴직 후 삶의 경험을 심층적으로 탐색하고자 하였다. 분석 대상은 퇴직한 베이비붐 세대의 삶에 관한 진술문이 기술된 질적 연구물 20편이었다. 연구물의 분석 방법은 질적 메타분석이었으며, 이를 통해 핵심 주제의 도출 및 그 주제에 대한 종합적 해석을 시도했다. 그 결과, 213개의 개념이 도출되었고, 이들은 26개의 범주, 8개의 하위주제, 그리고 3개의 주제로 통합되었다. 베이비붐 세대의 퇴직 후 삶의 경험에 대한 3개의 주제는 퇴직 경험, 퇴직 후 적응 경험, 그리고 노후 준비였다. 퇴직 경험의 경우는 퇴직에 대한 대응 및 심리적 변화에 관해 논했고, 퇴직 후 적응의 경우는 대인관계의 변화, 변화된 환경에 대한 적응, 경제활동 재진입, 사회활동 및 여가생활을 중심으로 퇴직 전후의 적응 과정에 대해서 논했다. 노후 준비의 경우는 여생에 대한 바람과 죽음 준비를 중심으로 논했으며, 그들에 대한 재정적 지원과 신체 및 정신건강과 관련된 지원, 사회적 관계 및 사회활동 지원 등을 제언했다. 본 연구에서 탐색한 결과는 퇴직한 베이비붐 세대가 초고령사회에 건강한 노년의 삶을 계획하고 설계하는데 필요한 자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

The first generation of baby boomers in Korea have recently been retired from their main jobs, and the majority of them have begun to belong to the group of older adults. Therefore, this study attempted to explore in depth their life experiences after retirement. The studies to be analyzed were 20 qualitative research articles describing statements about the lives of retired baby boomers. The analysis method of the study was qualitative meta-analysis to derive main topics and attempt a comprehensive interpretation of the topic. As a result of the analysis, 213 concepts were derived, which were sequentially integrated into 26 categories, 8 subtopics, and 3 topics. The three themes about life experiences of post-retirement for the baby boom generation were retirement experience, post-retirement adaptation experience, and preparation for old age. As for the first topic of retirement experience, coping with retirement and psychological changes caused by retired were discussed. As for the second topic of post-retirement experience, the adaptation process between pre- and post-retirement was discussed, focusing on interpersonal relationships, environmental change, re-entry into economic activities, social activities, and leisure life. As for the third topic of retirement preparation, wishes for the rest of life and preparation for death were discussed whereas financial support for them, support related to physical and mental health, and support for social relations and social activities were suggested. The findings of this study would be used as valuable data for retired baby boomers to plan and design their healthy old life in the upcoming super-aged society.
