학습무동기가 청소년의 자존감과 인터넷 중독 간 관계에 미치는 매개효과

국문 초록

본 연구는 학습무동기가 청소년의 자존감과 인터넷 중독에 미치는 매개효과를 검증하는 것이다. 전라북도 I시 초등학교(5, 6학년)와 중학교(1, 2학년)에 재학 중인 752명을 대상으로 자존감, 인터넷 중독, 학습무동기를 측정하여, 상관분석과 구조방정식모델링 분석을 실시하였다. 자존감, 인터넷 중독, 학습무동기변인들 사이에는 유의한 상관관계가 있었다. 자존감은 학습무동기와 인터넷 중독에 유의한 부적 영향을 미치며, 학습무동기는 인터넷 중독에 유의한 정적 영향을 미쳤다. 학습무동기는 자존감과 인터넷 중독 관계에서 부분매개하고 있음을 확인하였다. 이러한 결과는 청소년의 인터넷 중독 완화를 위한 지도 시, 낮은 자존감을 가진 대상 중 특히 높은 학습무동기 집단에 대한 집중적인 개입노력이 필요함을 시사한다.

영문 초록

This study examined the mediating effect of learning amotivation on relation between adolescent self-esteem and Internet addiction. The self-esteem, internet addiction, and learning amotivation were measured for 752 students attending an elementary school (grades 5 and 6) and a middle school (grades 7 and 8) in I-si, Jeollabuk-do. Correlation analysis showed significant correlations among self-esteem, internet addiction, and learning amotivation variables. Structural equation modeling anaysis showed significant negative effects of self-esteem on learning amotivation and internet addiction, and significant positive effect of learning amotivation on internet addiction. It was found that learning amotivation partially mediated the relationship between self-esteem and internet addiction. This result suggests that there be concentrated intervention efforts to reduce the amotivation of the low self-esteem adolescents particularly with strong learning amotivation when it comes to lessening internet addiction.
