초등학교와 중학교 시기 창의성 발달 경향 및 성차 탐색: 호기심과 독자성을 중심으로

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 서울교육종단연구2010 자료를 활용하여 초등학교와 중학교 시기 창의성이 어떻게 발달하는지, 창의성 발달 양상에 있어 성차가 나타나는지를 분석하였다. 호기심과 독자성을 중심으로 창의성 발달 양상을 살펴보았으며, 초등학교 4학년부터 중학교 3학년까지 시기를 중심으로 분석을 실시하였다. 분석 결과, 초등학교 시기 변화율과 중학생 시기 변화율이 다르다고 가정한 분할 함수 모형이 창의성 발달 경향을 가장 잘 설명하는 것으로 나타났다. 초등학교와 중학교 시기 모두 호기심과 독자성이 감소하는 것으로 나타났으며, 감소폭은 중학교 시기에 더 높았다. 성별 차이를 분석한 결과, 호기심과 독자성 모두 여학생의 초기치가 높았고, 초등학교 시기 변화율은 남학생이 여학생보다 높게 나타나 여학생의 초등학교 시기 감소폭이 남학생보다 높은 것으로 나타났다. 중학교 시기 변화율에 있어 성차는 유의하지 않았다. 분석 결과를 바탕으로 한국 학생들의 창의성 발달 특성과 이에 따른 교육적 개입 방안 등에 대해 논의하였다.

영문 초록

This study aimed to analyze how students' creativity develops and whether creativity development patterns differ by gender using Seoul education longitudinal study (SELS) data. Large data on students' curiosity and independence aspects of creativity of 4th to 9th grade were analyzed. Results revealed that the piecewise model, which assumes difference in the rate of change between elementary school periods and middle school periods, fitted well with the data. Curiosity and independence decreased in both elementary and middle school periods, and the decline was higher in middle school periods than elementary school periods. Significant gender differences in decline during elementary school periods were found. Curiosity and independence of female elementary school students decline more rapidly than those of male elementary school students. There were no significant differences during middle school periods. Based on the results of the research, the characteristics of Korean students' creativity development and possible educational intervention were discussed.
